Yes, I do have a problem with some Federal government policy on these two issues. Marriage, gay or otherwise, is not mentioned in the Federal compact and therefore according to the 10th Amendment it is strictly a state issue.

The same goes for abortion as this also is not some unassailable right that is spelled out in the Constitution that should be binding on the whole nation, it is an issue for each individual sovereign state to decide.

Yes I agree, we should tear the Statue of Liberty down and send it back to France. We are living in a different world from the time when the written immigration law was universally respected and proper immigration controls enforced by the administration in power. Ellis Island was a great idea where the healthy person was weeded out from the sick and then allowed into America.

Today the rabid left wants no controls on the immigrant at all, they want the sick and infirm allowed in along with those who have no skills that would benefit the nation at large. This is chaos and the nation is being irreparably damaged because of it.

I am guessing the pressure that he listened to was from Melania. She loves the children. Plus, the dems would do nothing, except rail, & he handled it. It is a hard place to be, if you are DJT. So even if families aren’t separated, it doesn’t mean catch & release. I trust Trump, he’s the best we’ve had in a long time. I believe he’s playing chess while others are playing checkers.

So are you now against Trump's new policy? If not, why not. This also answers all those here who incorrectly claimed that separating children from their parents was the law. It wasn't. It WAS Trump's policy but not any more.

The president is still pursuing the zero tolerance policy, its just that the children will be staying with their parents during the time of sending them back.

I am sure that they were LEGAL Immigrants, not illegal ones! IF we do not keep solid borders, than will end up as Europe is now, with crime cartels and Islamic terrorists running rampant!

Yes, the healthy weeded out from the sick. We should not be taking in people who will need extensive medical care that would be a great expense to the taxpayers of this country. That is an insane policy and unfortunately it has been going on for years now.

Some years ago my wife was having an operation at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. While I was in the waiting room I struck up a conversation with a Somali immigrant whom I noticed had a disability. I asked him what he did for a living and he said that he didn't work, that he was on Federal disability.

It seems that as soon as he got to America in addition to the "getting started" money he was given, they signed him up for Federal disability payments. Federal disability payments? Yep, not only does he get a monthly Federalstipend despite never having worked here and contributing to the system, he had full Federal healthcare coverage as well - for life! (And he was barely in his 30's)

I mean really, that type of thing is a bit much and this person and immigrants like him are not a plus for the nation, but a drain on the nation. Do you really think that kind of policy is somehow okay and should be tolerated?

Good grief, it's no wonder we are now 20 trillion plus dollars in debt. So yes, we need to have the same type of immigration policy that was practiced at Ellis Island in the 20th century.

Actually, that was part of the Obama health plan, as he weanted to have boards to ration health care, remember in a town meeting whewn he told a person that instead of having her grandma get expensive surgery, would make sure she got pain killer instead!
