Glad I could be of help. Always wanted to get to England. - I was stationed in Germany for many years
with the US Army. Used to listen to Trans World Radio - with offices at 175 Tower Bridge Rd!
But the bottom line here - the actions of Jerry Jr and his "better half" have done much harm to Evangelical Christianity.

I read the statement from Mr. Falwell. I can understand his shock at his wife’s unfaithfulness. I can understand wanting to forgive his wife and even the other man.
What I’m having a hard time understanding is why both he and his wife maintained a personal relationship and a business relationship with this man after the affair was made known.

That's what I would like to know. Interesting point. I'd like him to address it, though it seems he's implying it was a relationship based on blackmail. Very possible, given his position.
And if so, should we rely on the testimony of a blackmailer?
If Falwell is merely guilty of covering up his wife's sins, I have no problem with him financially benefiting from what he built at Liberty. There is no question he is behind their success, and I don't believe in monetary punishments for sins of this nature. Is anyone actually for that?
I think we all have to admit, we don't know what happened. Some of those who don't like Falwell are lapping up the salacious rumors. I refuse to do this. I'll take his statement at face value, unless something substantial contradicts it. I'm not inclined to believe the accuser, a priori. He was indeed trying to benefit financially from the whole thing, and did.

WASHINGTON – In a claim likely to intensify the controversy surrounding one of the most influential figures in the American Christian conservative movement, a business partner of Jerry Falwell Jr has come forward to say he had a years-long sexual relationship involving Falwell’s wife and the evangelical leader.
Giancarlo Granda says he was 20 when he met Jerry and Becki Falwell while working as a pool attendant at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel in March 2012. Starting that month and continuing into 2018, Granda told Reuters that the relationship involved him having sex with Becki Falwell while Jerry Falwell looked on.
Granda showed Reuters emails, text messages and other evidence that he says demonstrate the sexual nature of his relationship with the couple, who have been married since 1987. “Becki and I developed an intimate relationship and Jerry enjoyed watching from the corner of the room,” Granda said in an interview. Now 29, he described the liaisons as frequent – “multiple times per year” – and said the encounters took place at hotels in Miami and New York, and at the Falwells’ home in Virginia.
The material Granda showed Reuters includes screenshots from what Granda said was a FaceTime conversation he had with the Falwells in 2019. During that call, Granda said, Becki was naked as the two discussed their relationship while Jerry peeked from behind a door. Reuters was able to verify Granda’s description of the screenshots.
Granda also shared an audio recording that he says captures a conversation he had with the Falwells in 2018. In it, Becki complained about Granda describing his relationships with other people: “He’s like telling me every time he hooks up with people. Like I don’t have feelings or something.” Jerry then chimed in: “You’re going to make her jealous.” “I’m not trying to do that,” Granda replied.

Exactly. "he says". What are these messages that he says prove it? We don't know. At least I don't. All kinds of claims are being made. It's the nature of our culture.
At this point, what do we know for certain? Falwell covered up an affair his wife had, and likely financially. It's a very sad story. Many gloating over it. They should take heed.
He has at least to some extent. If it's as he says, I also have compassion. It means he forgave an affair, which is also commendable, and something not many can do. Why he did this, I'm not sure. What toll it actually had, I can't say. I'll be curious where he and his wife go from here.

What is with this older woman going after younger men, even teenaged boys? Seems like when school is in session there are constant stories about female teachers having sex with male students. Is there a #HeToo movement for that?
