The fear of losing your salvation...a false fear or true motivator?

Bartholomew,

I ask you a question, WHO is wicked and slothful servant of Matt 25:26?

Does 'cast into outer darkeness' of Matt 25:30 saying it will last for ONLY 1,000 years limited???

In Christ
Rev. 22:20 - Amen!

Good question. It is a SERVANT - i.e. a Christian. But a slothful one. At the judgement seat of Christ he recieves for the BAD he has done (2 Cor 5:10); his works are BURNED UP and he SUFFERS LOSS (1 Cor 3:15).

No - it doesn't say how long the servant will stay in outer darkness. But Rev 20:11-15 tells us that at the end of the 1000 years all the dead will come OUT of the sea, death, and hell, and be judged. Those who are not found in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire.

No, the wicked and slothful one is anyone who operates from a position of fear. Gifts given by God must be used for gain and not buried awaiting His return. Gifts 'buried', or not used are an insult to the gift giver.

Jim and Bartholomew,

I found both of your posts to be quite interesting. I will have to do some more study on this issue. I've always thought of the phrase "kingdom of God" as a reference to heaven and eternal salvation. In fact, many verses are coming to mind which seem to relate these as being one in the same, but then again I admit I haven't really studied this perspective in depth, so I'm sure there is some type of explaination for such verses.

I would be interested in reading more if there is a link you could point me to. Thanks

Hi Skan,

Here are some websites I found useful (I'm not saying I agree with everything they say, but much of the material on this subject is very helpful). Also, there are many books published on this subject, and Jim mentioned some of the authors. Here goes...
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO HEAVEN'S KINGDOM ON EARTH?(Pt.1)
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO HEAVEN'S KINGDOM ON EARTH? (Pt.2)
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO HEAVEN'S KINGDOM ON EARTH? (Pt.3)

Kingdom exclusion website

I hope they help!

Look Guys,

The kingdom of God is everywhere that God is King!

If God is not your king, then you are not of the kingdom of God!

The kingdom of God has no physical borders, is not confined by any physical thing, and cannot be inherited by anything physical.

Is anyone listening to this brother, he is on to something here. What does it mean to 'operate from a position of fear'?

The position of fear is what I like to refer as yo-yo salavation!... I'm saved... No I'm lost... Saved again!... Opps messed up lost again... Saved... So is that the way it is all through life?... Remember this that the string of the yo-yo is still around God's finger... I fear God for who he is and that he saved me and all his children... Fear is NEVER a good motivator for Salvation... I serve a God of LOVE... There is plenty of heaven and hell in this life before we get to our eternal home in heaven!... The road map to heaven is what Jesus did for you on Calvary!... How are you doing Brother Frogman?... Brother Glen

Dear Brother Glenn,

I am doing good, I will send you a pm. I have come to a reconciliation with my understanding of the other side of this coin (ie. spiritual/gospel regeneration).

May God Bless us all
Yours by Grace alone.

Correct, but do all subjects of a king always accept his rule? All are subjects of the Kingdom of God. The distinction is found in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Those who do not have God as king are not in the kingdom of God! Jesus said I know my sheep and my sheep hear my voice. Same principle!

No. Jesus is speaking of a sheepfold, the kingdom of God belongs to God; the sheepfold is an aspect of that kingdom and further an aspect of the kingdom of heaven whose king is Christ. Remember that Christ said he has sat down with his Father in his throne and that the Bible says he is ascended to the right hand of the Father. Whether we want to believe it or not, these things are different.

The Kingdom of God---all creation, he is King whether acknowledged or not.

The kingdom of Heaven---the rule of righteousness of Christ at which point now we are in the mysterious manifestation of it; during the revelation of that kingdom there will be a dwelling of righteousness, not without the rule in righteousness.

The family of God--all who are saved and shall be gathered in eternity.

The sheepfold---(though I have never used it this way, I believe it will bear out because Jesus said he had others not of this fold)---this sheepfold is the church.

Personal position in each of these is not dependent upon fear, but Grace. The fear is reverence for God. This reverence may be a motivator, but only to the degree of fruit produced in service and if applied to eternal life, then that (eternal life) is gained by that service.
May God Bless us both with greater understanding.

It's the principle that what one adhere's to determines what one belongs too.

It is a given that All that God created belongs to God, and is subject to His pleasure.

He established His "Kingdom" in the Christ! Therefore all who accept the Christ and adhere to His Teachings is in the Kingdom of God"

So really what you mean is that God has not established his kingdom at all?

Who has made you my judge?

I am part of the kingdom of God simply because I am a product of God's creation.

I am a part of the family of God because I have been quickened as Lazarus, being dead in my tomb I have heard the voice of the Lord declare Come forth, I have come forth but yet bound in my grave clothes hand and foot with the burial napkin over my face none of this occurred under nor by the desire of my will.

At the resurrection day I will hear the Lord say Loose him and let him go and I will join the Bride at the marriage of the Lamb and his bride. I am part of the kingdom of heaven because he rules in righteousness over me now, but then I shall dwell in righteousness with him.

And this only because of the Grace of God shed in my heart in the face of Jesus Christ. How do I know? Because the Spirit itself beareth witness with my spirit that I am a child of God.

May God Bless

I do not judge, simply look at the fruit!

The statement was not one of judgement but a question of whether or not you knew, because if you don't know, you ain't part of it.
