Sorry, but I came to the theology before I came to Calvinism. One day I was building bombs, and the next day (literally) I was a Christian … and the event that happened in the middle was a variation of the “road to Damascus” where God made me an offer that I could not refuse. So I did not CHOOSE Calvinism … the monergistic reality that God saves whom He pleases without stopping to ask our permission CHOSE me.It is the calvinist theology that you are clinging to that causes the problem.
Did God ask Abram if he was willing to follow God? No, God simply informed Abram of God’s choice. Same with Moses. Same with David. Same with Paul. Same with me.
To deny that, is to deny both reality and scripture. I cannot deny my own empirical experience. That my experience has been given a name by Theologians that lived before me (Doctrines of Grace, Particular Baptist, Reformed, Calvinist) changes nothing; it just makes it easier to describe.
