Right, but is there a way congress can set it up that way, and agree beforehand? Seems you can't just take a whole bill and cut it up. If that were the case, Trump would not be talking about a future bill, he'd just do it to this present bill. But Trump is talking about asking Congress to allow it on a future bill. There seems to be a way to do it, if Congress agrees beforehand.

Congress agreed to it before Clinton did it and got slapped down by SCOTUS.

Trump should know this.

He should have just vetoed the bill. But he was weak, just like McConnell and Ryan.

From the link I posted:
The judge said that New York, the hospitals and the potato farmers had standing to sue because they had suffered ''an immediate, concrete injury.''

It wasn't even a Congressman who took it to court.

But wouldn't tax payers suffer a "concrete injury" by additional taxes?

Note: just edited - "was" to "wasn't" makes a big difference!

McConnell and Ryan are worthless Rinos. Trump is rapidly losing my confidence. I think they just guaranteed a midterm massacre of the G.O.P.

Trump's not weak. He felt it was necessary to fund the military and government at this time. Otherwise he would have caved to the pressure.

He did cave. He didn't even try to hold democrats accountable.

For someone that considers himself a super salesman and negotiator, he showed zero confidence in his ability to sell the public on the fact that democrats were once again causing a government shutdown by not funding the military.

Totally agree. He just wasn't interested in the whole budgeting process. Detached, aloof.

Master negotiator. Bah! He ought to rename his book, "The Art of the Steal". That's what this budget is doing to the next generation of taxpayers.

I don't see the swamp being drained.

Didn't drain the swamp? Try enlarging it because that's what the omnibus bill did in spades.

I think Trump damaged himself the most but all of this is correctable. Trump will be treated like Roy Moore when he's up again, meaning Republicans and any Independent that can't stomach the Democrat will just stay home unless he shows himself to be a MUCH better negotiator.

I honestly don't think reincarnated Reagan could get anything out of these RINO losers.

Let not your hearts be troubled. Trump just played fools.

Donald J. Trump‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump
I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded.

5:55 AM - 23 Mar 2018

Make no mistake, the President is in control.

Trump ‘Considering’ Veto
Cites Lack of Wall, and… Lack of DACA Amnesty??

President Donald Trump announced on Twitter on Friday that he was considering a veto of the omnibus spending bill.
Trump has said he would have no problem letting the U.S. default on its debt. He's very good at declaring bankruptcy for himself and his companies so it's not an idle threat. That would destroy our economy and send the world into a Greater Depression. he doesn't have a clue about the dangers.

And the liberal favorite. The bankruptcy lie.

BTW, ITL, how'd your boy Rubio vote? He must have opposed, otherwise you'd be all over him.

If a nation wants to hurt our national security, I would have no problem declaring our debt to them null and void.

Lets look at China and Japan in particular. Both hold about 1.3 Trillion each in U.S. Debt. That gives each pretty strong negotiating power with us. An instant dump that size would be very hurtful to our economy. It would not be catastrophic, but it would be painful.

Tariffs and Trade Wars and Trump....

Problem of a run on T-bill and T-Notes redemption solved!
