The Holy Spirit in The Book of Hebrews

van states that the second person of the trinity is the Spirit of Christ, but that Christ indwells us, so?

The Spirit of Christ is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is essentially one with Jesus Christ. So, when we read of Christ dwelling in us, it is the Holy Spirit, not the Person Jesus Christ. It is like when Jesus says, they that see Him see the Father, not that He is the PERSON, the Father, but that they are essentially One, and not different, but distinct

Thanks, for actually addressing the question. But I see no evidence the Spirit of Christ or t he Spirit of the Son, is not the second person of the Trinity. As I see it the Spirit of Christ could refer to Christ's Spirit or to the Holy Spirit sent by Christ, acting as His agent. However, I do not think scripture makes a compelling case either way.

Van, that is excellent IMHO also consider what Jesus said;
'I will not leave you bereaved, I come unto you; 14:18
in that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you; 20
SNIP
Thoughts?

Yes, John 14:18 clearly indicates the "Person of Christ" indwells each born anew believer.

And "Christ in you" clearly indicates the "Person of Christ" indwells each born anew believer.

How people can claim the "Christ in you" is not the second Person of the Trinity escapes me. They claim the Third Person represents the Second Person but only one Person, the third Person, indwells believers.

The Holy Spirit is Yahweh, not a mere agent of Jesus!

Yet another falsehood implication, as if I said the Holy Spirit "always acts" as Christ's agent. But did I say or suggest such nonsense? Nope. Once again this person is allowed to disrupt attempts to discuss scripture. Unbelievable.

Romans 8:11
and if the Spirit of Him who did raise up Jesus out of the dead doth dwell in you, He who did raise up the Christ out of the dead shall quicken also your dying bodies, through His Spirit dwelling in you.

The "Spirit of Him" refers to God the Father.
"Through His Spirit dwelling in you" refers to Christ's Spirit.

you are completely misunderstanding what the Bible teaches

The Three distinct Persons in the Godhead, as ONE "essentially", as God. Their "nature" is the same. The Holy Spirit dwelling in a believer is God indwelling. The Father dwelling in a believer is God indwelling. Jesus Christ dwelling in a believer is God indwelling. God cannot be divided into three, so each Person of the Godhead can be said to live in believers. Our bodies are said to be the temple of God, and the temple of the Holy Spirit. Both can refer to the Holy Spirit, or the former to Jesus Christ or the Father. But the "Persons" are always distinct.

We cannot fathom this with our sinful in finite minds

I am sorry, but your understanding of my question seems disingenuous at best. No one doubts our "One God" dwells within us as the Helper. God in three Persons, does not divide God into three gods. Scripture says all three Persons dwell in us. Thus for you to claim that the Spirit of Christ is not the second Person of the Trinity once again has not been supported.

The Bible very clearly says in places, like "Christ in you the hope of glory". Etc

So why does it say "the Spirit of Christ" using a capital Spirit, when "Christ in you" is enough?

The fact that translations use the capital S in Spirit means that the Holy Spirit is meant

Not true! Nouns (such as spirit) and Pronouns are capitalized to indicate deity.

The Holy Spirit is NOT the second person of the Trinity, the Lord Jesus!

No level of depravity is out of bounds for this falsehood, this fiction, proclaimer. No one said the Third Person of the Trinity is the Second Person of the Trinity. Why these falsifiers are allowed to post with no one holding them accountable is beyond me. Thus for you to claim that the Spirit of Christ is not the second Person of the Trinity once again has not been supported.

To use the depraved methods of JesusFan, he is claiming God the Father is not a Person of the Trinity. All you have to do is claim what was not said to have been said. Repulsive behavior.

Are they the same to you?
Take a position JesusFan, When Jesus died on the cross, and commended His Spirit, was it not the Spirit of Christ or Christ's Spirit, or the Second Person of the Trinity? (John 19:30) Folks, do not hold your breath for an answer.

"I"t is not a separate person form Jesus, as he is God incarnated, and he is the second person of the trinity!
Your wording here seems to be like how the Way sees it!
