This assumes the people on the ships deserve to be rescued.
If everyone aboard every ship is a member of ISIS, should they be rescued?
Second, your scenario sets YOU up as the judge who determines if the coast guard is doing things correctly or not.
In your case, the Coast Guard is a subservient organization.
So...your analogy is miserably flawed.
If everyone aboard every ship is a member of ISIS, should they be rescued?
Absolutely! The Perfect expression of Christianity.
Matthew 5
43“You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’
44“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on
the evil and
the good, and sends rain on
the righteous and
the unrighteous.
46“For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47“If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing
than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?
48“Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Romans 5
10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Hebrews 7
25Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Romans 5
6For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
7For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.
8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
You see how Our example to follow is different from your example?
God gave the life of his son for those ISIS folks too.
The entire point and priority of Christianity is LOVE not some gnostic legalism and condemnation of all mankind.
1 timothy 1
5But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
6For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion,
7wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.
You don't care about teaching others to LOVE THEIR ENEMY, Its more important to you to teach the law and legalism that everyone deserves hell, or that God hates unconditionally.
You represent everything negative and wrong with this world. Your like a parent who is disappointed their toddler cannot use a spoon to eat. So instead of teaching him you scorn in disappointed. A snob would think he's probably not elect anyways.
Loving your enemies that is BASIC, BASIC Christianity. Turn away from whatever blinds you from teachings of Jesus Christ.
