After all that time in the KJV and Strongs Exhaustive Concordance it is all I understand.WHY???
After all that time in the KJV and Strongs Exhaustive Concordance it is all I understand.
Though I'm glad you have a translation that you love, but we shouldn't conflate opinion with fact.I realize that the KJV is not perfect... However it is the best English translation. Classes in Greek or Hebrew would help perfect a biblical understanding, the Strongs Exhaustive Concordance is the next best thing.
Not the best English translation, but if you are able to get what God intended for you to receive from it!I realize that the KJV is not perfect... However it is the best English translation. Someone once said, "Honestly I just like to confuse KJVO folks by asking which KJV."and if another translation can do that?
and just maybe - another translation
could help you as well
The G1410 is dynamai, which could be taken as power to preach.... And an example of the G1410 word below....Someone once said, "Honestly I just like to confuse KJVO folks by asking which KJV."
In which.... He was correct! Which is why I cannot get overly fanatical over the KJV. I would, though, watch the other translations as well. In Acts 1:8 the TLB (Living Bible) restricts the power only to testify....
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. - Acts 1:8 KJV
But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power to testify about me with great effect, to the people in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, about my death and resurrection.” - Acts 1:8 (TLB)
Power in the Greek is dynamis, in which the Strongs Concordance does not restrict only to testify....
δύναμις dýnamis, doo'-nam-is; from G1410; force (literally or figuratively); specially, miraculous power (usually by implication, a miracle itself):—ability, abundance, meaning, might(-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle(-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work
So... The Living Bible effectively watered that passage down greatly.
ALL christians have that same power, as all of us have the Holy Spirit of promise!Someone once said, "Honestly I just like to confuse KJVO folks by asking which KJV."

I would reword that....ALL christians have that same power, as all of us have the Holy Spirit of promise!
That would be due to us at those times trying to live by our own efforts and in our "flesh"I would reword that....
ALL christians have access to that same power, as all of us have the Holy Spirit of promise
There are seasons when we do not have access to that power and can get little done because of it.
Hey.... I agree! That would be due to us at those times trying to live by our own efforts and in our "flesh"
The KJV... As original as my Ford Mustang!
I agree. The Ford Mustang was originally developed from the platform of the Ford Falcon. Also, the original Mustang was not the best performer.
