There is a distinct and obvious difference between the respect for Reagan and the worship of Obama. And while it is true Obama is losing support dramatically the article remains true as well. It is not an either or scenario.

I don't see the widespread "worship" of President Obama that some conservatives claim to exist. Sure, there may be some on the Left that could be said to feel that way, just as there may have been some on the Right that put George W. Bush on a pedestal during his presidency, just as some on the Right may even to this day put Ronald Reagan on a pedestal.

But widespread among the populace on 10/12/09 - no, I don't see that at all. If anything is widespread, I think that it is that President Obama is held in much lower regard today than he was on inauguration day less than 9 months ago.

I don't know, Obama fanatics are over the top. Watch this insightful news report.

Gotta love The Onion's satire. Thanks for sharing Winman.

My favorite was an audio news report that ended with "The Onion now covers soccer and other women's sports".

Who is Obama?

Obama is not an ordinary man. He is not a genius. In fact he is quite ignorant on most important subjects. Barack Obama is a narcissist. Dr. Sam Vaknin, the author of the Malignant Self Love, also believes, “Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist.”

Vaknin is a world authority on narcissism. He understands narcissism and describes the inner mind of a narcissist like no other person. When he talks about narcissism everyone listens. Vaknin says that Obama’s language, posture and demeanor, and the testimonies of his closest, dearest and nearest suggest that the Senator is either a narcissist or he may have narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).

SNIP

According to Vaknin, Obama displays the following behaviors, which are among the hallmarks of pathological narcissism:

- Subtly misrepresents facts and expediently and opportunistically shifts positions, views, opinions, and "ideals" (e.g., about campaign finance, re-districting). These flip-flops do not cause him overt distress and are ego-syntonic (he feels justified in acting this way). Alternatively, refuses to commit to a standpoint and, in the process, evidences a lack of empathy.

- Ignores data that conflict with his fantasy world, or with his inflated and grandiose self-image. This has to do with magical thinking. Obama already sees himself as president because he is firmly convinced that his dreams, thoughts, and wishes affect reality. Additionally, he denies the gap between his fantasies and his modest or limited real-life achievements (for instance, in 12 years of academic career, he didn't publish a single scholarly paper or book).

- Feels that he is above the law.

- Talks about himself in the 3rd person singluar or uses the regal "we" and craves to be the exclusive center of attention, even adulation

- Has a messianic-cosmic vision of himself and his life and his "mission".

- Sets ever more complex rules in a convoluted world of grandiose fantasies with its own language (jargon)

- Displays false modesty and unctuous "folksiness" but is unable to sustain these behaviors (the persona, or mask) for long. It slips and the true Obama is revealed: haughty, aloof, distant, and disdainful of simple folk and their lives.

- Sublimates aggression and holds grudges.

- Behaves as an eternal adolescent (e.g., his choice of language, youthful image he projects, demands indulgence and feels entitled to special treatment, even though his objective accomplishments do not justify it).

Fits him to a T.

This is the body language of extreme arrogance and it fits many of his actions. I pray he will change, that he will not be effective at his goals to "change" America, and that a new leader will be chosen in 2012 that can "restore" America to the right path. I also pray Americans will replace the many errant and un-Godly men and women in the Congress with a fresh new group that know the Lord and seek to serve Him in their duties of civil government.

To keep it fair, we don't know if Obama was stretching his neck and the photographer snapped it in this state, or if he was looking up, etc. We can make any picture say what we want it to say.
*disclaimer* I am not a fan nor a supporter of his policies.

The camera can catch any of us at our best or worse - no doubt about that - but this photo of Obama fits his arrogant demeanor, attitudes, and actions.

Well, if it is a fraternity tradition to call someone the Alpha and Omega, someone should inform them that this is the name of Jesus Christ in Revelations.

As far as that missing money, it is not that I am not concerned, but I don't know what you expect me to do about it.

I know, I'll call Obama today and set up a meeting. I will ask him to form a committee to investigate what happened to this money. Then I will ask him to form a committee to find out what happened to billions in his stimulus package that are also missing.

So don't you worry, it is as good as taken care of. I'm glad you brought this to my attention, I am right on it.

Alpha and omega are Greek letters. What other Greek letters do you want to ban? How about banning our letters A and Z? Don't you think that's appropriate since they correspond to Alpha and Omega? From now on you have to leave the letters A and Z out of your posts.

Are you completely ignorant of the biblical implications?

Or just being your normal trollish self?

Most times when we pray we bow our heads in due shame.
According to scripture we are supposed to 'boldly' approach the Lord as Christ has paid the debt with his shed blood. The Lord sees us as being just as worthy as Christ himself after we've accepted the gift of salvation.

The meaning of "boldly" approaching the Lord in prayer is very different than arrogance. We can be "bold" because we know He will hear us, He always does what is right, and we are saved from the ultimate consequences of our sins. But we'd better not be arrogant about it! We need to remember just who we are and who He is. That is why we bow our heads in reverence and why people even fell flat on their faces to plead with the Lord because they knew exactly what they were. When we get to thinking God belongs to us rather than we belonging to Him I think we become arrogant. We can't negotiate with God. We can't meet Him on our terms. We go to Him because He is great and we are small. In that sense we'd best not be bold. We approach "boldly" because of what He has done and what He had the power to do - not of ourselves or anything we have done. I don't think this means that looking up to the heavens when we pray is somehow always wrong. I think it's what in the "heart" that matters. But I also think that human body language often reflects what's in the heart and so we need to be very careful what we reflect. In the photo Obama demonstrates arrogance in his body language. I have no idea what was on his mind or in his heart at the time. The camera can catch people in strange positions. However, Obama demonstrates arrogance in his demeanor and so the photo is a fit to illustrate that. I don't want to speculate about the nature of his private prayers as that is between him and God. However, I can observe his public actions, hear his words, and read his writings and then I can and do make judgments about that. It is my conclusion that he is very arrogant and also rather weak in his understanding and practice of true Christian beliefs. That combined with the inherent power of his office makes for a very dangerous combination.

I find it shocking to look for a way to compare the President of the USA to Adolf Hitler in any way, because he is popular, and so many other reasons.

It probably annoys me because of our past with the nazis, and all the horror tied to such a tragedy.

Honestly, such comparisons go too far, and should not be allowed.
