Ones more accurate to the originals, such as the Nas and the Nkjv!

I agree that the NAS is a fine translation. I simply prefer the NIV (primarily for its "readability.").

There were many excellent language resources made available during the 1980s--in large part due to the popularity and readability of the NIV 1984. The NIV 2011 is also quite readable, but not as popular as the NIV 1984. Leave a NIV 1984 laying around somewhere and chances are it will not be there when you return to pick it up.

Just my two cents worth. :Tongue

Yes. In fact, until recently, I owned several copies of the CSB.

After reading the CSB on a daily basis for a span of six months, I decided I didn't really care for it.

I gave my CSB Bibles away to the local Goodwill store.

(This was approximately three months ago, if memory serves.)

What was "wrong" from your point of view?

Overall, I found it a bit odd or unusual in it's rendering of certain passages. That it was not what I was accustomed to seeing or hearing in other Bible translations I've customarily used.

Now, this doesn't mean that I believe it's a poor translation (or an inaccurate translation). If that were the case, I would not have donated it for others to read.

I suppose the bottom line is: it simply wasn't "my cup of tea." It didn't impress me. It didn't seem to be a translation that I would care to use on a regular basis.
