I love tea but generally only drink it before noon. I'll drink iced tea in the afternoon.

Roger, do you drink Earl Grey type tea? I don't care for the bitter taste.

Gib, you drink sweet tea, right? Lipton or Teatley?

Welcome Bro. Jim!

Dan, I love the smell of coffee but only drink it a few times in a year! Usually when I have breakfast out.

Hmmm.... never heard of it! I prefer Lipton's over Tetley. Most people prefer Tetley.

Well I had a dear Irish friend in Connecticut. She made tea from the leaves but I'd need it watered down and I don't put milk in mine. Just sugar. Siobhan made the best tea cakes and desserts. I think I've told you about them before.

She said I kept my house too clean. It made her nervous to come to my house. She'd feel at home now. ;)

A lot of folks here drink "black tea" the same way as you do Diane. We concede and use Lyons Tea Bags (at times we still use loose tea) for the convenience.

Each company makes several types of tea. The brand we use, for example makes:

Blue label - basically tea leaf powder in a tea bag, but this is perfect for iced tea.
Green label - the best seller - just normal crushed tea leaves - available loose or in bags
Gold label - a higher quality tea. Uses the better parts of the tea leaf only. Loose or bags
Kenya blend - a VERY high quality tea. Made with only tea leaves from a certain tea farm in Kenya. WONDERFUL stuff.

Then you realise that about 4 companies a;; have this kind of variety, plus de-cafs and all kinds of assortments, you can imagine the tea shelves at the supermarket ;) .

Good morning all you tea drinkers!

Kinda like the coffee house, but even more gentle and quiet.
Is that why you don't visit us much anymore? ;)

The Coffee House is on it's 78th thread and is thriving.

We are a family, just like you are here.

av1611jim : If tea doesn't have "enough power" for you, come get a good, strong cup of coffee...

My mom's tea is so weak, if the ice melts, it almost looks like water. It sure hits the spot.

I have a 36oz thermos I drink tea out of on a daily basis. The ice slow melts and I have something to sip on all day. I'm not a big fan of hot tea. There is a small window of comfortable temperature in which to drink it.

I do like cold uniced tea. The only problem with that is I can drink a gallon in the time it takes to play a quick game of spades, to 500.

I drink my iced sweet tea without ice too. Too cold and it hurts my teeth. I don't like it too weak but certainly not strong!

What a BEAUTIFUL day here! It's 65° but the sun is so bright. I just fed the baby and he's eating some finger foods now. Ty's playing on the floor with Matchbox cars and MacKenzie is napping. Not long til time to switch the nappers. Jon doesn't work today so I'll leave Ty napping while I go get Max. That'll give him an extra 30 mins. or so.

The funny thing is, we drank hot tea under the hot desert sun, with temperatures reaching 120f. It was far more refreshing than the coldest drink available. Medically speaking, the body cannot tell the difference, between hot and cold, beyond the throat. The body has an amazing ability to balance the temperature, but a hot drink has a less severe reaction in relation to the body's temperature.

I drink hot tea on the hottest day.

Cheers,

Jim

Homeostasis--an elusive balancing act.

It is something "every--body" strives to maintain.

Some try to maintain using coffee, tea, guarana etc.--probably for the caffeine--a stimulant.

Others use a potion of vinegar, honey, water and a 5-mile run--very invigorating.

I have tried all of the above--I am presently back to strong "cafe"--contrary to the advice of my cardiologist. I rationalize the situation by drinking "lite" coffee--but I still consume enough to maintain the "balance"--an amount which increases with tolerance.

Time to get some new running shoes--and some herbal tea.

One day this corrupted body will put on incorruption--Praise the Lord.

Probably no caffeine in heaven.

Selah,

Bro. James
