The Original Tea Room # 8

well, that cup should be almost empty by now..it is only 5 days running.

Sad day to-day. I had to have a 5 week old kitten put down. The poor thing was healthy in every way, except its back feet were reversed. I tried using splints to stretch the tendons and bring the feet around. To-day we learned it had no active nerves in the back end, and veterinary determined it was best to put it down; nothing could be done, medically.

I still walk by the cage looking for that kitten. Still, we know we did our best, and it didn't work.

Just reminded me of that word "dominion" in the Old Testament. The actual meaning is not power over, in the sense of superiority, but the power of responsibility over the animal life. How awesome is the duty God ascribes to us humans.

Cheers,

Jim

That's very sad, Jim1999 but I know you didn't come to that decision easily. :(

Our cat, Patches, is pulling up my carpet. She's actually damaged it in a few spots. The vet recommended spraying her with a water bottle or putting down sticky tape but she isn't particular about where she does her clawing. Any suggestions?

Put the tape down and try a scratching post.My daughter brought home a kitten that its back legs were sideways. She picked him because she thought if she didnt he would die.We tried tape and splints but it didnt help.A week later she had us talked into getting his sister too.

Diane: I used the water bottle a few times on Oreo and that's all it took. Now if I just pick up the bottle, he stops whatever he is doing wrong. ;)

It has got very quiet in here of late. Where is everyone?

We have woken up to a gloriously sunny day here in Gloucester. Fortunately it is not too hot yet. I don't know what the forecast is for the day. I am hoping to get some more gardening done and Rob will be playing with his latest toy, a garden shredder.

I hope everyone has a good day in the Lord

It is a glorious day here in Kildare as well. Mary minds a Down's child a few hours a week and we are going to a nearby round tower a little later. There are only two in the country you can still climb and one of them is about 15 minutes away. These round towers are about 1000 years old.

I am enjoying my new experiments with the web - such as blogging. I know blog pictures and I also blog my daily devotionals. They devotional blog forces me to dig a bit deeper into my own daily devos since I have a link to them on my family site and my personal site.

The picture blog is by far the easiest way to post photos on the web and it looks nice with no work.

VERY wet here today - and windy. Two of our sons go to Alabama tomorrow without us. For the first time since we have lived here I wish we were going with them.

That 10th century Kildare Round Tower reminds me of:

Proverbs 18:10 (KJV1611 Edition):
The name of the Lord is a a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

A blog is an electronic (computer) diary.
It is all the rage for the last couple of
years, uheard of before then. I guess people
like to read others blogs as much as make
their own

This reminds me of the sunami (sp) that hit. Had they reported a tidal wave, I would have known what was happening. A blog,,why not just say electronic diary? B;og sounds like some goulish picture show.

Cheers,

Jim
