I see no prohibition. I think we need to start public hangings and firing squads again. What does the New Testament teach about the Death Penalty.

I see hangings to be reserved for traitors to the country. Firing squads should be reserved for enemy executions and drowning for Heinous crimes like rape, child molestation and murder. We can discuss public burnings and drawn and quartered for another time. All should provide a deterrent to crime.I see no prohibition. I think we need to start public hangings and firing squads again.
I agree. It clearly permitted by governments.
However, I do not believe Christians should support the death penalty.
peace to you
They do in New Jersey, but I sincerely doubt it is followed for Godly reasons.Other. The death penalty is a sin against God. But the world is not expected to follow God.
Now your argument should be with the courts not the death penaltyGiven the number of innocent people that have been falsely accused??!!
I was at one time a hard core electric bleacher guy

No. It's not even the same conversation.I agree.
Some Christians support the death penalty. Others abortion. Potato, potahto. The only difference is their justifications.
Not the same conversation, I agree. But the same heart and same sin.I see no prohibition. I think we need to start public hangings and firing sq

No, because executing a person guilty of a Capital crime is not a sin.Not the same conversation, I agree. But the same heart and same sin.
Same principle. No difference (for a Christian). And yes, it is a sin except perhaps it meet the qualifications listed in Scripture (which is very rare in the secular judicial system). No, because executing a person guilty of a Capital crime is not a sin.
Big difference. One is sin. One is not.Same principle. No difference (for a Christian).
Both are sin. The ONLY pisdible exception is it meet the Biblical qualifications (which is rarely the case).Big difference. One is sin. One is not.
Executing a convicted murderer is not sin. Both are sin. The ONLY pisdible exception is it meet the Biblical qualifications (which is rarely the case).
By the testimony of two and under a theocracy maybe not. But even that is pushing it.Executing a convicted murderer is not sin.

Anyone who would support the death penalty (under a secular government) would support abortion except for their personal preference. The immorality is the same.
