I did not see the president's condolence speech. Perhaps I can find it later, but I am glad to hear it was a good speech. I cannot imagine what the parents of these small children are going through. I find it exceedingly painful just to think about the loss these people have suffered.

Likewise for the friends, families, loved ones of the adults who were so senselessly struck down.

We need to pray for all.

How about a prayer for the women who are complicit in the murder of their child?

One Word....

It is obvious from your past posts that you are not pro-life for the living. You have railed against programs that help the poor, the infirm folk who are often in desperate need. Even your post here shows that you really do not like to help others, regardless of the front you put up.

No where did Christ say, "Check the immigration papers." Look at the last judgment in Matthew. There are no qualification tests.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in."

You sing the praises of the unborn, but you do not live that same philosophy, in your posts, for the living.

Ichabod!!! :tear:

Now go look in the mirror and see how large a tree trunck you have protruding from you eye(s).

It was an extraordinary speech by our President at a crucial moment for our nation. I was thankful for his poise and articulation of a reasonable plea for sanity.

A reasonable plea for sanity. This at the memorial service for 20 murdered children and 6 murdered adults. This from a man whose nominating convention celebrated the continuation of the slaughter of the unborn. And then poncho has a few things to say about his indiscriminate use of drones!

This is completely false and you know it. Shame on you.

If guns are such a horrible thing to have, how many of them were loaded and ready to use for the entire time of the president's visit?

It is hard to understand how Christians lead by the same Spirit can disagee on such clear principles from Scripture, especially when some of the posters here have had extensive training in seminary and this is their profession. It is also a mystery why some choose to link two unrelated issues.

There can be only one way to look at the unborn. It is life that the Lord created, and therefore, only the Lord has the right to take it. That right certainly does not rest with a bunch of sinful, flawed human beings. Why is one post ever made on this issue? It is as clear as one can be this side of heaven.

Then we have the issue (totally seperate) of helping the poor, feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, edifying the down trodden, encouraging those discouraged, tending to the sick, etc. How can any Christian put a qualification on this? This issue is quite clear. Help others. Love others as yourself. How much clearer does it need to be? There are no qualifications, barriers, roadblocks to helping others.

While we are on the subject, why do the two get linked? What does one have to do with the other?

As far as the issue of the drones, I am not sure this even falls into the realm of Scripture, more political. I have stated repeatedly that I do not believe we should have any presence or relationship with Muslim countries, but we do not know all of the facts related to the drone attacks. At any rate, it would be good to have more information before we criticize the attacks. But thing is clear though, there is no justification to linking drone attacks to either the abortion issue or helping the needy.

If we were all sincere in our basic Christian beliefs, there would never be a thread debating issues like this.

It should be clear why they are linked. Those who aid and abet the continuation of the slaughter of the unborn are trying to salve their conscience by promoting their charity to the poor while falsely accusing the pro-life people of being hard hearted.

I brought up the issue of drones because of the nauseating accolades heaped on Obama and his speech. I have noted before this persons seemingly preoccupation with death shown by his rabid abortion stance and his insistence on personally approving each drone attack. It is possible the latter is an abundance of caution but given the number and targets one can wonder!

If we were all sincere in our basic Christian beliefs, there would never be a thread debating issues like this.

If all those who profess were obedient Christians there would be no abortion in this country!

Abortion certainly gets some people riled up. Too bad that they cannot see the incongruity and inconsistency in being opposed to abortion, but being willing to sacrifice the lives of children for their definition of "freedom," and for a skewed interpretation of the constitution that won't require a single shred of accountability for owning a gun.

First the "skewed " interpretation of the constitution is the same one the founders who made it had. And the difference is you and all liberals want to put a bandaid on a shotgun wound. the problem is not guns. It is the heart and getting rid of guns and taking away rights of law abiding citizens will not change these mass killings. They will go on with or without guns.

What an asinine statement:
but being willing to sacrifice the lives of children for their definition of "freedom,"

I would remind you sport that people have died to defend our freedoms. That freedom includes the right to bear arms. It is stupid to imply that guns initiate the slaughter that went on in Connecticut and at other locations. Those guns did not walk to that school and begin killing. It is people who pull triggers. It is people who slaughter the unborn.

...I find that cockroaches hate the light. In fact they go and hide. Thanks for putting light on the falsehoods of the comments made by CTB!

You have completely proven my point that you are pro-death. You have just used hate language, calling other an insect. This is known as one of the stages in hate language building up to genocide.

You are acting childish CTB. The response by righteousdude2 is simply to the [/b]real "hate language" you used in falsely accusing those who are against the slaughter of the unborn of not caring for the living.[/b] You have no idea what righteousdude2, or me or any other person who opposes the slaughter of the unborn does to help the poor! Perhaps in making these accusations you salve your conscience a little, that is assuming your support of abortion does offend your Christian conscience. I will say this, whether you really need to salve your conscience or not your diatribe against righteousdude2 and others is not the balm of Gilead! It is because of professing Christians like you who support abortion over 50,000,000 babies have been slaughtered in this country.

Buy you approve of the death of others after being born. You cannot say your are pro-life and be pro-death after birth.

Calling others insects is internationally recognized as hate language. It is the type of language the Nazi's used, was used in Rwanda and other places. So, anyone using such language is pro-death and is using hate language.

In the lead-up to the horrifying genocide of that year, Hutus described their rival Tutsis as 'inyenzi' or cockroaches to be hunted and eliminated.

I am surprised the moderators allow such language.

See, you continue to repeat your falsehood. I have said I am against abortion. But I am also pro-life after birth. I am against capital punishment and am for help those who are malnourished and in ill health.

You cannot be truly pro-life unless you are also in favor of helping folk after they are born are are alive and in need. And you cannot be pro capital punishment and truthfully say your are pro-life.

CTB, remember about what happens when we argue with those who will not hear reason.

Preachin, yep, I know. But than I think we do not stop telling the story of Christ just because people refuse to listen. We do not stop correcting children in their spelling mistakes just because they make the same mistake again. In time some will see reason. When I was younger I would have sided with some folk here on some issues that I do not side with now. But that was when I was younger, dumber and did not understand as I do now.
