None of these are reasons for the elite to pay their people less than they did (real wages) 20 years ago - they were getting rich then.

There are other reasons money doesn't cover the bill. For example, half of credit card holders owe an average $8,000 balance, a third of new cars sales are "upside down," and half the new births are to single mothers.

Why be frustrated when lost people do not handle things in a biblical manner. Unsaved CEO's who do not set decent wages should not shock anyone. When we find someone in need go to God who owns the cattle of a thousand hills. I saw this week a battered woman her two children and disabled mother who had been running from her ex for 5 years because he has made many attempts to kill her go from a single room with two double beds in a sleazy motel to a 2000 sq ft home with 4 beds. She has been provided work, furniture, food and leal assistance after running, hiding, starving being rejected by the Govener, and Congressman as well as Senator and Social Security.

Being angry at the misdeeds of sinners is a foolish endeavor. We as Christians need to get on our knees, fast and wait on God. Angry bitter resentment steals your peace and is sin itself. Philippians 4:1-8

You raise a really good question: "Why be complacent when non-believers regularly handle things in their life in a more biblical manner than do 'Christians'?"

One reason for declining wages might be the decline of labor unions. These days only the teachers and govt workers seem smart enough to organize.

And that is scary.

We made such great gains. Our parents had the greatest era to live in. Wealth was adequately spread among the working class. We had a great era of Christian growth. God used us to be a light to the world.

And then we turned to the murder of the un-born. Our country has gone down hill ever since.

May He be merciful in His judgment of our country and our people.

The rich get richer beacuse they let their money work for them.
By the way, I got laid off one year, a week before Thanksgiving. I was unable to get unemployment beacuse I worked part time at a radio staion six hours a week (Employment office said I had at least some income)

So what did I do, I went out and found another job.

One of my mottos is: Those who have something to do, find a way, others find an excuse.

Currently I teach the drivers safety course. Upon completion, you will recieve a 10% discount off your insurance (at least in NY)

Now, if a 20 year old took the class every three years (to keep discount)
until he turned 60, he would take the class 13 times x $40 = $520. Assuming his insurance is $1000 per year he would save $100 x 40 years = $4000 -$ 520 = net savings of $3480.
Now, if I have my math right that $3480 would increase (base on doubling with proper investment) over a lifetime span of 40 years to EIGHTY-THOUSAND DOLLARS.

Yet, many people say they can not afford to attend the class. Folks, it takes money to make (via saving) money.

The key is investing, saving, and NOT spending every last dollar in your pocket.

Clark Howard, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clark_Howard a fininical advisor radio host, and a self made millionaire still looks for the great deals, whether it is travel, cars and ect. (If I heard right he is also a Southern Bap and a member of the Georgia State Guard http://www.sgaus.org/

Currently, I go out for excerise in the morning when I am able. While I am walking, I collect bottles for depost. It is only 5 cents per bottle, but it adds up, not just the prinicipal but also the counpounding interest On a loan I am paying (One card is at 29.99 percent) will be paid off much sooner due to the coumpounding interest of the bottle deposits.
I asked them to lower the interest rate, but they would not, so when it gets paid off, I will not charge any more on it.

just my 2 cents worth

Salty

ps I have had the interes lowered on two other credit cards just for the asking (and with good credit) I also transfered one other card to a new one which I recieved 6 monhs of zero % interest. Boy, did that save me some buck!!

PPS my goal for 2007 is to collect 1000 bottles

Sure they do. That's why there is a bank appraisal on a property before the bank agrees to give you a loan.
No they don't.

The appraisal determines the value. It should be done by an independent appraiser.

The bank will base their loan value on the appraisal.

Bottom line is nothing is going to change because:

1. The NEA + the AARP can swing any election. The old people always vote and the young people seldom vote.

2. Half the U.S. is under the table and untaxed and the people who have this income like it this way. Two examples. First, in washington State the income from marijuana is second only to apples and ahead of wheat. This is the situation in many states. The politicians and local govts are financed by dope money. For example, confiscating property from dopers has replaced speed traps for revenue raising in local police departments.

Second, most craftsmen work under the table. For example, plumbers and electricians give a cash bid that is well under the paper trail bid.

3. The same international businesses own the Republicans and Democrats so it doesn't matter who is elected. The voting laws make it impossible for minor parties to win major elections.

4. The working class is kept happy with cheap beer and the sports channel. The working people, even the welfare class has the same sorts of consumer goods as the very rich. The very rich don't want "stuff," they want life and death control over the rest of us. For example, in the bad old days, the rich people looked different from their serfs. These days, from a distance, Bill Gates could have bought his clothing at Sears. The rich people have gotten lots smarter.

That could also be the reason the unemployment rate has been so low in recent years.

Declining wages could also be the result of a younger, less experienced workforce.

First, I do not accept you statement that half of the US is under the table.

Second, I get the feeling that you think that the rich are not paying their fair share.

OK, heres my take on it. Do away with the current income tax code, as well as all other federal taxes.

I have a peference for the auto tax. Any auto finicial transaction would be taxed ie ATM, debit card, and ect. It has been estimated that the tax would only be .002&

I believe Pete has a link for this.

$alty

Though I could accept the Fair or Flat tax

Carpro, when Daisy said "the lender will decide the most it's worth whether the buyer is willing to pay more or not."

You said, Banks can only determine how much they will finance. They do not determine "value".

Now you are saying they base their loan value on the appraisal, so basically it looks to me you are now agreeing with what Daisy & I said. At any rate, a bank is only going to loan so much money on any given house or property based on the current market value of a house or property, no matter if the appraiser is a bank appraiser or an independent appraiser.

The rich pay way more than their "fair share." There is nothing fair about a regressive tax system that charges the rich more for the same services that the poor get. It has too long been accepted.

As has often been pointed out, the rich pay a much higher tax (both in rate and dollars), but the police don't get there faster, the roads don't ride any smoother, the politicians aren't any less corrupt.

So don't bite the hand that feeds you. Let's call it the price of living in this nation. But let's not call it fair, and let's certainly not repeat the silly inanity that the rich aren't paying their fair share. That is simply an unthinking attack.

Well there is a loophole for the rich who are tired of paying more that their fair share, they can give all their wealth to the welfare slugs and let them pay the higher taxes.

No I am still disagreeing with Daisy but agreeing with your above statement.

Therefore, they do not determine value. They use the market value, as established by appraisal, to determine their loan value.

Market value and loan value are two entirely different things.

Um, yeah the police do get there faster and they're more polite and willing to take a report (firemen are the same, though the firehouses in the poorer neighborhoods are more likely to be further away and not as manned), the roads are in better repair and although the politicians are as corrupt they are corrupt in favor of the rich and against the poor.

Thats a bunch of crap. First of all the police that respond are among the poor. There houses and familes are in the poorer neighborhoods. Maybe you do not know how much law enforcement makes. Second Its not within officer discretion to take a report or not. They report on certan things no matter the income of the person they are talking to.

Maybe they are more busy in poor neighborhoods but that is not there fault is it.

None of us know how we would actually use an enormous amount money if we were in the same situation but I would rather be blessed by God with spiritual riches than to be blessed by man with earthly riches.

True.

Thou shall not covet...

I like the Debit Tax idea myself, if the numbers people give for it are right it seems easiest and fairest way to do it........which means there is no way it will ever be introduced on this planet
