Right you are Ivon. I am considering Fred Thompson also but my main focus is on Ron Paul and if all else fails I will look at a Third Party Candidate.

So, your options are:

1) Paul

2) Thompson

3) Third party

Wow! Once again, a Paul supporter shows he is more fair and balanced than the most militant anti-Paul guy.

In a recent thread I started called, "In the spirit of fairness, criticize your candidate here", ONLY Paul folks responded by criticizing Ron Paul.

Also, I support Tancredo, Hunter, and Thompson as well.

...

Bro. Curtis also likes Tancredo.

....

I like Thompson as well. I think Hunter would make a good V.P., and I haven't yet ruled out Alan Keyes for that position, either.
saturneptune, is open to all the Republicans besides Giuliani and Romney

That appears to be the case. LOL.

Doesn't exactly seem like we Paul supporters are the ones "buying" into a candidate. I would dare say Paul people here at BB are systematically more open minded and diverse than anti-Paul people at BB.

Good call on that, too, Ivon. Good stuff.

Absolutely not. He is pro states making a choice to slaughter children since he does not want to prohibit them.

I am simply amazed at the hatefull venom and lies that spew from those like you who will do anything to spread lies about the candidate that you don't like. First you try to make it look like he supports Neo-Nazi's then you ignore the facts and spread the lie that Ron Paul is pro-choice and that he wants to "slaughter children". Ron Paul IS Pro-Life!!

Here is how Ron Paul starts his speech in the "Ron Paul TV Special for Iowa - pt. 1" that will be broadcast throughout Iowa the weekend of Dec. 22-23.:

"The one thing we have to remember is you can not have freedom without life. We must preserve all life if we expect to protect the individual liberty of everyone of us, and that means the unborn as well! Let me assure you that as an OB doctor, and as one that has studied history and economic policy and politics for a long time, I can assure you that life begins at conception!. Life begins at conception, and as an OB doctor I had the legal responsibility of taking care of that life. If I did anything wrong I could be sued, if anybodys in an accident and the fetus is killed they can be sued, if in a violent act the fetus is killed, you can be charged with murder. There is no reason in the world that this government can't protect life, rather than the destruction of life, like they do when they finance abortion, that has to stop! The most important way that can be stopped is the reversal and the elimination of that horrible ruling Roe vs. Wade must be reversed!"

I see that you have a link to Alan Keyes web site. He is the last GOP presidential candidate I voted for back in the 2000 GOP primaries before I left the GOP. Alan Keyes lost my support when, after criticizing Hillary for moving to New York to run for Senate, he moved to Illinois to run for Senate.

I have not voted for a GOP presidential candidate in the last seven years, and untill now have had no intrest in changing my party affiliation back to the GOP. I made the change this past month so I can vote for Ron Paul in the primaries next month!

I just heard Alan Keyes on Hannity and Colmes misrepresent Ron Paul by implying he believes in the same kind of "free trade" the Bush/Clinton coalition believes in.

I can understand why the establishment media does this sort of thing. They fear what the Ron Paul Revolution stands for namely the end of their monopoly of control over government and information. But Keyes? Why is he resorting to misrepresentations, on Faux News?

He opposes a constitutional amendment tp stop abortion in this country. he wants states to be allowed to decide to abort children. That is not prolife.

Actually, the truth is that your position is the one that keeps abortion at its status quo, the constant stream of killing the innocent.

You know a Constitutional amendment will never pass. It has not passed through several Republican Presidents since 1973. It did not pass or even get started with a Republican Congress several times.

If you are an expert in history and politics as you say, then it should be quite obvious your solution will never occur, therefore, nothing happens. The slaughter continues forever.

At least with Ron Paul, the pattern changes, and gives us a fighting chance.

Common sense says if you try the same thing over and over, you will get the same result. That result is continued abortion on demand, and your position guarantees it has a long future.

"Campaign filings show that Don Black recently made the donation. He runs a Web site called Stormfront with the motto, "White Pride World Wide." The site welcomes postings to the "Stormfront White Nationalist Community."

A spokesman says Ron Paul plans "to take the money and try to spread the message of freedom." The spokesman, Jesse Benton, adds that "If someone with small ideologies happens to contribute money to Ron, thinking he can influence Ron in any way, he's wasted his money." "

Sounds like a good idea to me. Take Mr. Black's money and then use it to advocate the antithesis of what Mr. Black advocates.

Saturn, I agree with you that we should not avoid voting for Paul because he wants to throw the abortion issue back to the states, and I agree that an amendment stopping abortion is unlikely in the near future, but let's not say it cannot and will not EVER happen. That is self defeating. It seems a no-go now, but let's not give up on that dream, and let's do what we can to work toward it. God could work a miracle one day...who knows? In the mean time, a small victory over part of the problem is better than no victory over the whole problem.
