What I find troubling is that some people will display a total lack of integrity for rationally coming towards the truth in their arguments on a Christian debate board and the same will then turn around and use same kind of tactics to acuse their opponents of being unChrist-like for calling them on their lack of integrity.

The harsh tone that we so often find in debate threads truly reveals our character. I daresay that most in here would never say the things they do in person. It's when our sound judgment is put aside, due to the supposed anonymity of the Internet, that the content of our heart is known. May the Lord temper all forms of speech that I utter.

OP Title: "The Sharp Divide: How to deal with it"

We could just take all the Calvies out and shoot 'em. Nah, that's what Calvin woulda done. Best just to torment their sad souls with the truth till they meet their Maker. Who knows? I guess they were predestined before the foundations of the world to be the perpetual butt of one very funny cosmic joke.

.

So you are an expert on Calvin....and his judge?

Best just to torment their sad souls with the truth till they meet their Maker.

it is safe to say your posts torment no one at all. If anything it is you raising a white flag of surrender as you are out of bullets. If you cannot answer them...just try to mock and scoff:thumbs:

Who knows?

God knows all that are his.....
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

I guess they were predestined before the foundations of the world to be the perpetual butt of one very funny cosmic joke.
You can guess, speculate , or mock,scoff.....but as long as romans 8:29-30 are in the bible calvinists are unaffected by your weak attempt at humor....

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

but rather continue to study as directed by God....
9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

You sad attempt looks like this-
14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Considering the tone and content of your reply are you then saying you are not a Calvinist or just being hypocritical?

You are not used to interacting with biblically based calvinists, like archangel, jbh, Or,Herald and the rest of the brothers here. So you are having some trouble understanding the posts.
Instead of hurting yourself trying to say clever things, why not read some puritans and re-consider the biblical truth that you claim to have looked at once upon a time. You might have not understood correctly at first glance with no one there to help you. Your emotional, and philosophical "reasoning" has let's say......betrayed you...in this area.
As always....there are several of us here that would help you when you are ready to interact with the scripture.....although at this time you are looking for some matches to burn us at the stake, or have JB shoot us

Sorry, but it is evident you are the one having difficulty understanding the posts and further, I’m not interested in the personal opinions or advice coming from someone that continually displays he cannot or is unwilling to follow a simple argument nor ethically and rationally reason with integrity in a debate.

Don't worry about it GT, just another one of his bouts of Coprolalia. Probably off his meds or they have to be strengthened. No big deal....just ignore it!
I don't want you being rude to him either. JB is a friend of mine, though we disagree on the DoG.

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Lighten up a little guys. No need to get your undies in a wad. Of course your reactions were all predetermined, and so was were my instigations according to your little system, so who really cares? This is where your whole system degrades into incomprehensibility and fatalistic nonsense. Glad to help bring you to a new level of enlightenment.

So, our options are divide or co-exist. I prefer co-existence. There are too many other things we may unite around upon which we agree.

To be sure, the view we embrace also plays out in the way we evangelize, witness and do missions. But the discussion will not be IF we do those things; it will be HOW we do them.

Tom, I think there are two other options; separate or co-exist. Separation over belief or practice can occur while blessing those we disagree with into God's hands.

Agreed....sometimes we do not seem to find sucess:thumbs:
If "success" is not found, then it is because it is God's perfect will that it not be "found"....there is no reason to doubt God's perfect purpose...God has, in his perfect Sovereignty, chosen NOT to enlighten some others about his truths. Your disdain for God's perfect will is sinful and in utter rebellious dis-obedience.

Why do you get so frustrated with God's will? :BangHead:

When a Sovereign God chooses to enlighten others by his grace, than he will. Who is Icon to disagree with him?

This is sinful............I will pray for you brother. :praying:

This is your twist on it....nice try ,but it does not fly:wavey:

When a Sovereign God chooses to enlighten others by his grace, than he will.

That is correct

Who is Icon to disagree with him?
I do not disagree at all...you just did not understand what I wrote.Humanly speaking I do not know who God has elected, so I look for positive results in everyone I interact with.God is their judge, not me.
If you understood DoG correctly you would know this.

Looks as if you are trying to joke here? Or you have misunderstood my post as well as the doctrine?

God's will always gets done as He has ordained it too.

Why do you get so frustrated with God's will?

I do not, I am fine with it....The elect always triumph In Christ by faithful proclamation of truth....
14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
