The Sin of the Consumption of Blood

Contrary to the claims of some today, Christians are not required to worship on the Sabbath day. It, like the other Old Covenant holy days Paul mentions, is not binding under the New Covenant. There is convincing evidence for that in Scripture.

Until you read the Bible in places like Hebrews 4 "There REMAINS therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God"
Until you read the Bible in places like Isaiah 66:23 where we find that for all eternity AFTER the cross in the New Earth ALL MANKIND keeps the Sabbath "from Sabbath to Sabbath shall ALL MANKIND come before Me to worship" Is 66:23

Isaiah 56:1-8 GENTILEs specifically blessed for Sabbath keeping.

Mark 2:27 "The Sabbath was made for MANKIND"

Acts 18:4 "EVERY Sabbath" both Jews and gentiles go to the synagogue to hear Gospel preaching

The UNIT of TEN - still upheld in the NT as we seen in Ephesians 6:2 where we are told that the fifth commandment is "the FIRST commandment with a promise" in that still-valid still-binding unit of Ten.

Lev 17 and Lev 11 - forbid eating meat with blood in it - JUST as Acts 15 STILL does.

Lev 11 also says not to eat rats or diseased meat no matter the type of animal from which you get the diseased meat.

Turns out - the Gospel is not about trying to get people to eat more rats, eat more diseased meat, eat more blood.

The following is an excerpt from The MacArthur New Testament Commentary on Colossians 2.

How Do Believers Withstand Spiritual Intimidation?

Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day—things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. (Colossians 2:16–17)

Legalism is the religion of human achievement.

I like a lot of what MacArthur teaches - still he is not the Bible. When he differs with it - I stay with the Bible.

Matthew 7 - before the cross -- says "Judge not that you be not judged". But that did not delete the commandment about not taking God's name in vain. Even in the NT we are not to take God's name in vain, or eat diseased meat, or eat rats just as God's Word says in Lev 11.

Notice what Christ said in Mark 7:6-13 about the idea of setting aside one of God's commandments.

Lev 17 and Lev 11 and Acts 15 all agree - no eating meat with blood in it. The Apostles in Acts 15 affirm it. God's Word declares it is true.

And still to this very day - we are not to take God's name in vain, eat diseased meat, eat rats, or eat meat with blood in it.

This is the easy part.

Somehow, to you, saved by grace means you are permitted to become "lawless" and break the law?

Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law. (Romans 3:31 [NIV])

Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:19 [NIV])

As if grace has become a leniency to become lawless, when in fact, it is quite the contrary, a leniency for you not to be punished to death because of the sins that you have already committed that deserve death, that you may then become righteous according to God. Grace is a chance to begin doing good and avoiding evil, and have all your past sins forgiven, not for you to CONTINUE IN YOUR SINS AS A LAWLESS PERSON. And we know that SIN IS DEFINED BY THE LAW. You are in fact a lawless person, because you think the entire law has been discarded. Anyone who thinks this is under a curse,

He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. (Proverbs 28:9 [KJV])

If you are Jewish, why do you care what the New Testament has to say?

You rip Romans 3:31 out of its context again. That's called eisegesis and renders your biblical hermeneutic invalid.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning (James 1:17).

But, God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life (Romans 5:8-10).

And, this is the promise that He hath promised us, even eternal life (1 John 2:25).

And, for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance (Hebrews 9:15).

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me hath everlasting life” (John 6:47).

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).

“Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal” (Matthew 25:45-46).

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:15-16).

Then said Jesus unto the twelve, “Will ye also go away?” Then Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life” (John 6:67-68).

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:1-3).

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation m received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God (1 Peter 1:18-21).

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever; nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past (Ecclesiastes 3:14-15).

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

“For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. How think ye? If a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And, if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish” (Matthew 18:11-14).

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And, I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one” (John 10:27-30).

“And, this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day” (John 6:39).

“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition [Judas]; that the scripture might be fulfilled” (John 17:12).

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not (1 John 5:18).

“But, if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But, when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils” (Luke 11:20-22).

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that in you, than he that is in the world
(1 John 4:4).

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it (1 Corinthians 10:13).

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matthew 24:24).

They went out from us, but they were not of us: for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us (1 John 2:19).

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:2-6).

And, the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (2 Timothy 4:18).

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen (Jude 24-25).

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD ; and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed (Psalm 37:23-26).

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24).

“Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat; but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not” (Luke 22:31).

Read, Repentance and Sin No More, Perfection and Born of the Spirit | Wisdom of God . And perhaps you may come to understanding.

If you have a real answer then do so. I don't have a problem with anyone recommending a text. But if you cannot sum it up, then there is no reason for me to spend time reading it.

I have already read some of your works, and I find them to be Unchristian, uncharitable.

I'm not asking you to read it for my own benefit, I'm asking you to read it for your own benefit. If you don't want to, then don't. It is I who has no reason "to spend time" making elaborate responses specifically for you, when it is clear that the one who is stiff necked is you.

Unless I am mistaken, I've seen these very same (almost word-for-word) posts from you at other Christian forums. I also know what the result has been in some circumstances.

You can choose to believe whatever you like. I am not your judge. But we are to correct errant beliefs. I can only pray for you, asking God to intervene as He sees fit.

What is the Hebrew Roots movement?

christiang, I have told you before that your inability to verbalize your own thoughts makes your posts weak. This is a discussion board, not pinterist.
After you claimed to be a prophet, I now recognize that what you post is of little to no value.

What is the Hebrew Roots movement?
The Hebrew Roots Movement leadership deny the personality of the Holy Spirit as a member of the Godhead - they in fact deny the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, they deny Deity of Jesus Christ the Second Person of the Trinity come in the flesh. They redefine the Second birth as being repentance unto adhering to the law of Moses - and a host of other heresies.

They are an offshoot of the Garner Ted Armstrong Cult.

Oh yes, you are quite correct. I grew up in Southern California and had friends in Pasadena. I have come across many people who had been devoted to the Bible, but weren't satisfied with salvation by grace and felt like they needed to do more. This is where many of them end up. They are essentially saying that grace is not enough.

Jesus is enough.

Yes, Amen.

Though it seems fruitless, Christiang needs our prayers.

Doing the works of righteousness is not saying that grace isn't enough, because it is by grace that one who is chosen begins to do works of righteousness. Grace involves choice of God, because it is by his prerogative that he chooses to bestow grace, or he chooses not to, hence "I will show mercy to whomever I show mercy" and "to some he shows mercy and to others he hardens". A better synonym for grace is "favor", because it better connotes the idea that he may or may not give it, like a king who may or may not show kindness to anyone who presents himself to him. A subject who really desires mercy will get on his knees and beg and cry out for mercy, not be proud before the king thinking the king has any obligation to bestow mercy. And what favor are you being given? That you are not struck dead this very moment, and that you have been given the opportunity to hear the word of God. Because we all deserve death in accordance to the Law. So, there is both kindness, yet severity with God. He makes alive, but he also kills. He is love, but he is also a consuming fire. This is why you must walk in fear of God, because just as easily as he can give favor, he can easily take it away. If you walk thinking, "I have grace", but still continue committing the same sins you have always committed, that made you worthy of death, not only are you not walking in fear of God, because you mistake the grace of God as a lenience to sin, when in fact its quite the contrary, its an opportunity to be forgiven of past sins to then begin walking blameless before God. It would be no different than if someone was pardoned for murder, would it not be obvious that if he continued to murder he would eventually be thrown back in jail and lose the favor that was granted to him? The law of God is what defines EVERYTHING that is sin, so anyone that discards the Law essentially discards the manual of what actions they need to stop doing. This is fatal, because just as Eve was deceived into disobeying the command to not eat of the forbidden fruit, so are most of your churches deceived into discarding the Law that has all the commands of God! I can only just warn you, and try to be a voice of reason on this online forum.

True. For example when Christians choose to comply with the Word of God Exodus 20:7 saying that we are not to take God's name in vain - this is not a claim for "Grace isn't enough" rather as the New Covenant says - it is a sign of the New Covenant "My LAWs written on heart and mind" Jeremiah 31:31-33

I have come across many people who had been devoted to the Bible, but weren't satisfied with salvation by grace

I have yet to meet someone saying "I am not satisfied with salvation by grace" -- though I have met many many people holding this accusation against "others" simply because they differ on some point of doctrine.

Proof by name-calling and false-accusation is so "plastic" it can morph to fit almost any sort of difference.

If you are Jewish, why do you care what the New Testament has to say?

Paul was "Jewish" -- why did he care what the NT had to say? Should he not care? And what of the John the revelator? He should not care about the NT simply because he was Jewish??

You rip Romans 3:31 out of its context again. That's called eisegesis and renders your biblical hermeneutic invalid.

So far.... piling on the accusations -- but when do you ever try to prove one to be true?
