It has been 15 hours since I reported the thread title to the mods. Still no change.

Little Crabtown Boy said:
Social Security
Medicare/Medicaid
State Children’s Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP)

Should all be abolished.

Police, Fire, and Emergency Services

All are a legitimate function of government. However, there should be no federal involvement and no militarization of police.

US Postal Service

Should be privatized.

Roads and Highways

Should be limited to state and local control.

Air Travel (regulated by the socialist FAA)

The FAA and TSA should be abolished.

The US Railway System

Should be privatized.

Public Subways and Metro Systems
Public Bus and Lightrail Systems

Should be privatized.

Rest Areas on Highways

Travelling through Virginia this weekend, I noticed that several rest areas were sponsored by Geico.

Why not just privatize them?

Sidewalks

A legitimate function of local government.

All Government-Funded Local/State Projects (e.g., see Iowa 2009 federal senate appropriations)

Agreed.

Public Water and Sewer Services

Should be privatized.

Public and State Universities and Colleges

Legitimate function of state and local government. But I would have no problem with privatizing them.

Public Primary and Secondary Schools

Legitimate function of local governments.

Sesame Street

Should be privatized.

Publicly Funded Anti-Drug Use Education for Children

Agreed.

Public Museums

Should be privatized.

Libraries

It's not an illegitimate function of local government, but libraries work much better when they're privatized.

Public Parks and Beaches
State and National Parks
Public Zoos

Parks are a legitimate function of state and local government. However, like most things, they work much better when they're privatized.

Unemployment Insurance

Abolish it.

Municipal Garbage and Recycling Services

Should be privatized.

Treatment at Any Hospital or Clinic That Ever Received Funding From Local, State or Federal Government (pretty much all of them)

Why?

Medical Services and Medications That Were Created or Derived From Any Government Grant or Research Funding (again, pretty much all of them)
Socialist Byproducts of Government Investment Such as Duct Tape and Velcro (Nazi-NASA Inventions)

Why?

Use of the Internets, email, and networked computers, as the DoD's ARPANET was the basis for subsequent computer networking

Why?

Foodstuffs, Meats, Produce and Crops That Were Grown With, Fed With, Raised With or That Contain Inputs From Crops Grown With Government Subsidies

Why?

Clothing Made from Crops (e.g. cotton) That Were Grown With or That Contain Inputs From Government Subsidies

Why?

If a veteran of the government-run socialist US military, I will forego my VA benefits and insist on paying for my own medical care

Good for you. I get better coverage privately than I do through the VA anyway.

I will not tour socialist government buildings like the Capitol in Washington, D.C.

The Capitol isn't "socialist".

I pledge to never take myself, my family, or my children on a tour of the following types of socialist locations, including but not limited to:

Smithsonian Museums such as the Air and Space Museum or Museum of American History

Should be privatized.

The socialist Washington, Lincoln, and Jefferson Monuments

How are those things "socialist"?

The government-operated Statue of Liberty

Honestly, I've been there a couple of times. I don't know why anybody would want to go there in the first place.

The Grand Canyon

Ditto. It's a hole in the ground.

The socialist World War II and Vietnam Veterans Memorials

How are those things "socialist"?

The government-run socialist-propaganda location known as Arlington National Cemetery

I'm conflicted about Arlington. While I believe our soldiers should be honored with national cemetery, I have serious moral problems with how the land for that cemetery was obtained (particularly since I'm a descendant of the family that owned that land).

I will urge my Member of Congress and Senators to forego their government salary and government-provided healthcare.

Agreed.

I will oppose and condemn the government-funded and therefore socialist military of the United States of America.

Oh, so you're a Democrat?

I will protest socialist security departments such as the Pentagon, FBI, CIA, Department of Homeland Security, TSA, Department of Justice and their socialist employees.

Agreed.

Upon reaching eligible retirement age, I will tear up my socialist Social Security checks.

Upon reaching age 65, I will forego Medicare and pay for my own private health insurance until I die.

My family and I have never believed we would have those things, anyway, so we took the initiative to be entrepreneurial about it and take our future into our own hands. I'm forty seven. I'm retiring next year. Couldn't have done that if I'd waited on the government.

Questioning a member's salvation is evidently no longer against the rules. ZAAC has done so to many members. He's still here. So you should be safe calling him an athiest.

But calling him a troll may do the trick, since trolls are dominating the boards.

Arminians tell us we're not Christians all the time.

CTB - the pledge is a spoof of Tea Partyists and Christians (purity pledge).

No member of the Tea Party wrote. No conservative wrote it.

A liberal-minded person who wanted to poke fun and mock the Tea Party and other conservative groups wrote this:

HENCE....

[1] The idiotic language such as "I will foreswear the time-honored principles of fairness, decency, and respect by screaming unintelligible platitudes regarding tyranny..." and much, much more.

And

[2] The vulgar name assigned to the Tea Party - "Teabagger" and the mocking "Purity Pledge".

You came here wanting to know if we would sign this absurdly-written mocking document.

Why?

It's not a conservative document. It's not even a genuine document. It's a joke. And you fell for it.

You need to be aware the hoaxes and spoofs of conservative and Christian people. The internet is OVERflowing with them.

To clarify, I didn't respond because I "fell for it". I responded because even though I'm just one person, each time I get to speak out on those issues, whether the thread is legitimate or not, it's one more time the truth gets out.

It's pretty stupid in its assumptions, as is typical for LCTB. We're not against government. If we were, we'd be calling for the abolition of government, not the reform of government and we would keep calling for a return to the Constitution.

But because LCTB is unable to argue issues, this is the best he's got.

I was sure that you hadn't. No reasonable person would have.

I appreciate your response to him.

I changed the title but am not deleting the thread as too many folks have put too much effort into their replies. But I am closing it.
