How many lives are taken per year using pressure cookers versus fire arms? That's an argument for tightening up our gun laws.In the marathon bombing that was done with a pressure cooker. No one called for more control of pressure cookers.

Stick to the point. Why do private citizens need silencers? Someone said to protect their hearing. Bogus. What about simply wearing ear muffs?

Let me educate you. Fully automatic weapons were used in the terrorist attack in Las Vegas.
I haven't seen that bit of confirmed news yet; can you post a link?Let me educate you. Fully automatic weapons were used in the terrorist attack in Las Vegas.
I agree - we still have to remember our heritage handed down by our country's forefathers in our founding historic documents, namely the Constitution with the Bill of Rights which was bought at the price of blood with the Crown. If/when it ever goes away (Bill of Rights) America ceases to exist.I'm not talking about taking away all firearms. I'm talking about outlawing semi-automatic and automatic (used in the terrorist attack in Las Vegas) and performing better background checks. Today in many states there are no background checks at gun shows or for guns bought over the internet. To my knowledge, semi-automatic weapons have only be used in mass murders.
My grandfather was a great hunter and fisherman in KY. My mother was an excellent shot and even though her father told her not to try she would regularly beat the men at turkey shoots. My Dad went hunting and almost had an accident when he dropped his gun climbing a fence and it went off. (not the right way to do it). Because of that he spooked my brother and I about guns. He also got thrown into a pond by some bullies when he was young and almost drowned and for a while I was afraid of the water. But I got over that and because a good but not fast swimmer. At one point I could swim 1 1/2 miles and now can still go a mile even at my "advanced age." I used to camp in a tent a lot but haven't done that in a while but should do that again. I love the outdoors and especially the mountains.
I'm simply calling for introducing some sanity into the way we ensure a safer gun environment in America.
Hayley Geftman-Gold, 41, took to Facebook last night to write that she was 'not even sympathetic' to those killed or wounded because 'country music fans often are Republican.'
With this post, you are actually reinforcing the idea that making weapons illegal only takes them away from law abiding citizens. Criminals will always find a way to get them. This is like guns checks. There are ways around the restriction.
Convicted Felons Buy Guns With Ease
Convicted Felons Illegally Buying Guns
In the video, the clerk is told that the man who wants to buy the gun is a convicted felon, making the sale of a firearm illegal. It is illegal for convicted felons to own guns anywhere in the US.
"I like this one," the undercover agent says, pointing to one of the guns. "Its $200," says the clerk.
The ATF informant and undercover agent then devise what's called a "straw" purchase scam where the man posing as a felon has his girlfriend buy the gun. The whole process – which is also illegal - takes less than two minutes.
"What about her; can she do it," the informant asks, pointing to the other undercover agent who is a woman. "She can do it," the clerk says.

I know someone in ILL. who is on Medicare Mental disability and an abusive husband (police have been called about incidents and handcuffed him) who can walk into a gun shop and buy a gun.
No. I'm arguing that our current process isn't working and needs to be improved. With this post, you are actually reinforcing the idea that making weapons illegal only takes them away from law abiding citizens. Criminals will always find a way to get them.

Fla. also has the "Stand Your Ground" law which allows people to shoot and kill someone if "they're afraid of them." Of course this only really works for white people killing black people. I imagine a black person couldn't kill a white person under this law in practice.Sorry about the 'bullet list' dots, they popped in there with the link.
- "Followtheway", according to this statistic, over 35,000 people died in road crashes, in the U.S., in 2015 alone. I don't hear you or any Democrats calling for banning automobiles. What we need is to enforce and implement our murder laws. Quit letting appeals run on for decades and implement capital punishment every time someone willfully takes a life. In my opinon, just willfully POINTING a gun at someone, except in self defense, should be grounds for execution or at least life in prison. For instance, Florida has a "10, 20, life" law: But I say if you rob a store and stick a gun in someone's face, it should be automatic death penalty.
- And another thing: if a gun store owner knowingly sells a firearm to a convicted felon, there should be no plea deals, he should go to prison for long enough that anyone else who wants to try it would think twice.

I understand what your argument is. But what you're showing is that making something illegal does not stop criminals from getting their hands on them.No. I'm arguing that our current process isn't working and needs to be improved.
If you outlaw guns, you are going to create millions of new criminals. I will be at the front of the line. My Pappy told me "boy, if they ever come for your guns, give them a bunch of your bullets instead."No. I'm arguing that our current process isn't working and needs to be improved.
These posts are why it’s so easy to tell when you “forget” to source a copy-and- paste. This is a ridiculously immature post completely devoid of any actual information. It is an inflammatory attack on those in whom you simply disagree.Fla. also has the "Stand Your Ground" law which allows people to shoot and kill someone if "they're afraid of them." In cases where cars are used as weapons as happened in Charlottesville, it is the same thing as killing with guns, knives, nooses, etc. Otherwise, a car is a vehicle not a weapon. Car cases in which people are charged with murder or manslaughter are also the same.
So should stabbing someone with a knife and killing them be illegal?I understand what your argument is. But what you're showing is that making something illegal does not stop criminals from getting their hands on them.

Take a deep breath and TRY to act like a Christian. I have my view and you have your's. Try to be respectful if you can. These posts are why it’s so easy to tell when you “forget” to source a copy-and- paste. We've been following this route for a long time and things are getting worse. It's time for a change. "Millions of new criminals?" Come on. We already have more people in jail than any other developed nation. If you outlaw guns, you are going to create millions of new criminals. I will be at the front of the line. My Pappy told me "boy, if they ever come for your guns, give them a bunch of your bullets instead."
Take a hard look at who your MASTER is.There is nothing remotely respectful on your post and if the post is TRULY your opinion you are to be pitied.
And don’t tell a whopper like that and then drag my savior into it. Shame on you.
Sometimes, when the government abuses its tremendous power to scapegoat someone, even proponents of government power find it to be too much.
Mike Weisser is a liberal who writes frequently for the Huffington Post in favor of gun control. Indeed, I have been the target of some of his attacks. But in a new book, “Sandy Hook: A Man Sold A Gun,” Weisser tells the story of a friend of his, Dave Laguercia, whose life was destroyed by the Obama administration in its quest to be seen as proactive in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook tragedy. Weisser describes Laguercia as an honest, law-abiding, decent man.
The emotions at the time were understandable. Adam Lanza had just massacred 27 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
Laguercia’s “offense” was that he had legally sold firearms to the shooter’s mother, Nancy Lanza. He sold a Bush Master AR-15 style “assault rifle” in 2011 and a Sig 226 semi-automatic handgun in 2010. All the paperwork was properly filled out, and Nancy Lanza had passed the background check. Laguercia did nothing wrong.
Weisser sums it up nicely: “For selling a legal product to a consumer and selling it following exactly the rules and regulations which governed such sales, Dave lost his entire business and millions of dollars in sales, inventory and future profits, lost his reputation, spent thousands of dollars on legal fees and now sits at home still waiting for the legal aftermath of Sandy Hook to come to an end.”
Weisser describes a regulatory system where it is essentially impossible not to make tiny recording errors. Wanting to blame someone for the Sandy Hook shootings, the Obama administration was determined to go through Laguercia’s records until they found some violations. If they didn't find enough dirt on Laguercia, they’d make up false charges.
The administration was not above constantly leaking false, damning stories of a “rogue” gun dealer with a “troubled history.” One story, leaked to the New York Post and other papers, blamed Laguercia for selling another gun in 2010 to another mass shooter. But he hadn’t sold that gun.
Another story described how Laguercia came under scrutiny by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for 33 guns that were stolen from his store. But Laguercia was the person who caught the thief and provided the videos that the government used to convict the miscreant, who was a part-time employee.
