The unpopular (but deadly) truth of conditional salvation

evangelist-7

New Member

“And after being perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.” (Heb 5:9)

Who really believes that to “obey Him” means to just accept His free gift of grace-faith (Eph 2:8-9)?

I have been promising you that ...
obeying God and co-operating with the Holy Spirit are NOT any kind of works salvation.

Doing these things is merely "your reasonble service" (Rom 12:1).

Thanks for reminding me![/COLOR]

First of all, you don't know me. And second, if you really think I'm in error, why is that funny?

At the judgment, I have Jesus as my advocate! :godisgood:

:jesus: saves, not verses.

Indeed and in 1John 2:2 "I write these things that you sin not - but if anyone does sin we have an Advocate with the Father"

In Heb 8 and 9 we find that Jesus goes to heaven after completing on the cross what God calls "the Atoning Sacrifice and not for OUR sins only but for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD" 1john 2:2.

Saved saints do have Christ as their advocate so long as they are the ones in John 15:1-4 who "Remain in Him".

And not like those in John 15 and Romans 11 who fall away or are removed by God.

in Christ,

Bob

I think it's somewhat amusing that ...
da same ones who are spiritually blind re: cessationism are also spiritually blind re: OSAS!
It's amusing to ponder whether or not this is a coincidence.

Sometimes I break out laughing so hard, and when my sides hurt too much,
I call on Rolf as an SLS (suitable laughing substitute).
And he doesn't mind ... he actually enjoys laughing!

But remember, at the judgment ... I have mnogo dozens of verses as my witness!

mnogo = Bulgarian for many
.

Well, just be sure to give diligence to make your calling and election sure, cause Jesus said, "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity".

One of the gifts I have been given via the Holy Spirit is the gift of discernment of things spiritual. I pray you are not in any position of influence in the body of Christ. I say this in hopes that you might repent of your antichrist attitude here. I have no problem with your error in doctrine, as long as you are not in a teaching position, however your spiritual condition is not good at all, the way you speak with fellow Christians is, well to be perfectly honest, what I would expect from the antichrist world. You can hold your pov tightly and dearly if that is what makes you stay in line, but your got a heart condition that really needs some quiet time with Jesus. :praying:

I say nonsense to your understanding of spiritual things ...
because of all of the ridiculous things you have posted in the past.

If you have received the baptism with the Holy Spirit
with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues,
and subsequently have received some of the 9 spiritual gifts
in 1 Cor 12, I would have to do some re-considering.

P.S. If no spiritual baptism, your discernment gift is not very strong at all.

Yes, I have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. My discernment of yourself from what I have read these many weeks is that you either never received a solid foundation of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ or that you have strayed very far away from that foundation and desperately need a refresher course. 101 for my students is if you say you love Jesus you must love as He loved and love your fellow man, whether they be lost or saved. Until you can do that, do not expect to learn anything from the Spirit on doctrines meant for the mature in Christ.

Please give a verse explaining what happened at your baptism.
.

Would you be able to understand them?

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

I have taken notice that you like to quote what I highlighted in red, but don't really seem to have spiritual understanding of the latter in black.

His forte is to blast others with passages that refer to those who have never experienced regeneration and pretend they refer to the sheep. He puts goats on a guilt trip and they reform thinking that their works will then gain them eternal life.

and here I thought somebody not a Primitive Baptist finally grasped the difference between eternal salvation, and timely, or gospel salvation. turns out to be a dud, too.
pity.
conditional salvation, is timely, of time, in time, and nothing to do with the eternal salvation secured by Christ on the cross.

Many hearty congrats to you and your buddy, DHK!

You guys preach the gospel, telling the people that ...
if they believe, they will receive a guaranteed eternal life in heaven.

This is actually telling them that they can live however they choose
because they have received a guaranteed eternal life in heaven. Dah.

Not only do you refuse to accompany your preaching with God's S-W-M
(which has always been His method, and has never been rescinded),
but you also promise your new converts falsehoods,
which are from the very pits of hell.

And you have no idea how many millions have gone to hell
because they have foolishly believed and trusted in this lie.

.

Did the doctor drop you on your head at birth? If they live however they choose, they are not saved. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

Gee, another guy who really needs to see the verses written to the churches
vich warn the members (dah!) that they can lose "eternal life" (in those very woids)!

Yes, he needs to see 'em, but he won't ask for them.
Geez, Rolf's never around when I could've used him!

Exactly. Carnal believers though love to use 1 Cor. as an excuse to live that way, and they typically hate the counter given by the Holy Spirit in 2 Cor. 13:5 to those who use that excuse.

That's what I thought ... you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Cannot you quote one verse about your Spirit baptism, which you claim to have received?
.

Mar 16:18 - "They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

Here I am at one of my fellowships.....

Boy, we really had the Spirit called down that night!

Here uncle Buck was really swinging those serpents in the Spirit.....

He got the ole foot jangle going good too - dancing in the Spirit. Oh the memories......Swinging those snakes and uttering those unknown tongues. I do recall that someone said they thought my utterances were Bishnupriya Manipuri.
