Where does it say it was anything else?
You made my point exactly. Let scripture speak for itself. I do not need anyone who tells me that that think one day is and was always 24 hours. We know for sure that one day has not always been 24 hours (Joshua 10).

Not that, but that God created both the universe and man with age.

I have no idea if you ever took any courses in logic or not, but in fact, you have proven the point for the 24 hour day being the greater probability. You have no evidence to suggest any other time span. The 24 hour day has existed since the creation process.

Probability has nothing to do with scripture. Your presupposition of of 24 hours and using probability to prove it is one non-Christians use a lot to lead people astray from God's word to a conclusion that is wrong. God's word is not about probability or presuppositions of what ifs or I suppose, or I think, but what is the truth. God's word is 100% correct not a chance of being wrong. The last time I checked God described a day in Gen 1:5, "God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day". I choose to believe God's word not what some contemporary Christians think. Scripture does a very good job of giving us what we need. Why do we need to interpret scripture in light of what someone else says or think instead of what God says?

Gen 1:5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

Great diversity of opinion on this matter. Since we have reached the 10-page limit of discussions (BB rule) we will close this down.

If you have a salient point not yet made and wish to discuss that matter, please start a new thread focused on that point.
