Not once in my post did I suggest that tracts are the only way to witness. That's something you inserted.
I have inserted anything anywhere, please back up your accusation with evidence - or don't make it in the first place - show me where I have stated you said that you did suggest such a thing or admit that you were wrong to lay that charge at my door!
I have no idea. I have passed out 5-10K in tracts in my lifetime.
And that is the point - a tract is pretty much 'fire and forget' evangelism! Certainly it has it's place, but to think that handing out tracts is effective evangelism is naive. It is so very easy for us to assuage our conscience, and believe we are serving well, because we have handed out a few (or many) tracts to people we are (most likely) to never meat again.
What about our family, what about our work colleagues, what about our neighbors and our friends - are we inviting them into church?
What about actually making friends with the goal of seeing them saved.
This all takes time and effort (we just spend an hour on Saturday morning doing it) rather it is 24/7 vocation that requires prayer, love, time, effort.
When you bring me a story about that I will listen until then I am pleased you handed out some tracts, I am sad that you don't seem to be following people up at all, but I will keep on meeting people, and doing things for people for the sake of the Lord, and trust that he (in his grace) will save some through my poor efforts.
