Yes or No: should scripture be the guide of government as it makes and enforces laws and policies?
That is a really good question. And I can understand why some posters have refused to answer it. The answers would show us a lot about the character of those answering.
My answer is "No on the governmental level." Government is supposed, by our Constitution, to be neutral to religion. Government cannot favor one religion over another thus "establishing" that religion as being official or recognized.
But my answer is "Yes on the individual level." Those in government who claim the Name of Christ should allow the teachings of Christ as found in Scripture be their guide in governing our country.

You seem to have missed the point. Nobody should put their religious belief ahead of the Constitution when it comes to making laws.

I totally agree with you. We do not live in a theocracy.
So you're using Jesus' name to demand people give more, at the same time saying his principals do not need to dictate how that money is spread around.

You are right, Jesus never said those things. But neither has Trump or his administration where as Trump and his administration has advocated those negative ideas expressed in the OP.
