I got into this thread late. I want to say first that I appreciate this board and the opportunity to discuss and debate issues. At times we all have crossed the line, just like in real life, we have needed to step back and ask forgiveness and go on. We are not perfect but hopefully we are being perfected.

Secondly, in regard to my last statement I worry about Roger, as he is a bama fan

.... How about everyone lifting up a prayer for Arizona State as they try to beat USC today. I know it may be difficult for you all to pray for the devils over the trojans

Many prayers are uplifted for Arizona State.
Many prayers are uplifted AGAINST usc

No need to pray for Wisconsin. They are manhandling Indiana at Camp Randall field as I type.

And people KNOW what a Badger, Gopher or Woverine is. Love the Big 10. But who ever heard of clever team mascots like a "tide" (would love to see that costume) or a Boomer/Sooner (mascot is a chuck wagon?).

Everyone - My intent was NOT to attack the Moderators.

C4K - I wish everyone had more of your spirit.

Bunyon - I have already said that it is just as wrong for me to get angry and fall into that mind set as it is for anyone else. Yet, after I said that you tried again to restir those embers. Let them die. Though my feelings have not changed, I don't want to start that fire again.

To those who feel my original post was changed - it was ONLY changed to the point of the moderators adding a note that they were considering closing the thread. My objection was the way that was phrased, the moderator apologized for that, as far as I'm concerned its all fine.

For everyone - my point was, and still is, that even if it is a debate board, we should try to drop the name calling. Now, I know, a lot of you are going to rush out to pull every post I made where I lost my temper, but don't waste your time or the bandwidth. I know that I feel passionately about certain issues to the point of crossing the line from discussing in a Christ like manner and in letting my temper go. All you do when you do that is make me angry over the same issue again, and make me feel I need to go into more detail to explain to you why I stand by my feelings on the issue.

Yes, hasn't anyone here learned this verse to live by yet?

(Pro 21:19) It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Followed by this thinking:

(Jam 1:19) Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

(Jam 1:20) For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

(Jam 1:21) Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

(Jam 1:22) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

(Jam 1:23) For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

(Jam 1:24) For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

(Jam 1:25) But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Around my house it's better to be blessed for the deed than a forgetful hearer of these words.

Sure thing. I just wanted to make a point about perception and communication, especially since it is an area of expertise for you. I don't have any more points. To the future then!

That kind of poll will lead to little more than whining, judging, and censorship. I enjoy the freedom of this board. If I want to raise an issue and learn something I feel I can do it without fear of being shut down if things get intense without coming to a conclusion or an agreement to disagree. I’m not so thin skinned that I can’t ask someone what they meant, be proved wrong, or criticized. The Bible is the ultimate authority to guide my actions and being human we will make mistakes. I’m not too proud to apologize, not to meek to be bold, and not so bold as to not be humbled. As a Christian I appreciate the open opportunity here for fellowship and discussion of matters in the heart in a safe environment where I can speak my mind.
