Can you elaborate your point a little further here?
Freedom of Speech does provide the liberty to say whatever you want, whenever you want, where ever, (these are likewise supported by the freedom of peaceable assembly).
If your point is that we cannot slander and claim freedom of speech, I agree, but I would point out that there is a double standard in our nation in regards to who and what is considered slander.
If your point is that Americans cannot speak their mind in an open forum even in opposition to proposed legislation, I disagree with you. Especially under consideration of the widespread public assembly and outcry against the previous admins. policies.
Here is, if you are suggesting that Americans cannot so speak out, an interesting position. Because there are those in this nation who would willingly give non US citizens full constitutional rights.
There are those in this nation who turn a blind eye to what can just as easily be interpreted as unconstitutionally protected acts perpetrated by liberal groups.

I'm saying that Baptist Board has the right to restrict free speech as they see fit. Congress does not.
I'll give you an example. Your boss puts in place a set of rules of acceptable speech for the workplace. Now, if you get up in the middle of your fellow workers while on the job and start using unprofessional language, your boss will disciple you, and possibly fire you. Now, according to some the boss has violated free speech. But obviously that is ridiculous. Freedom of speech isn't the freedom to say whatever you want whenever you want in an absolute sense. It restricts Congress from persecuting me for having an opinion which may differ from theirs. I'm given the freedom from government intervention or persection in voicing my opinions and concerns and gathering together with other likeminded individuals in peace and doing the same.

There is no such thing as "unlimited free speech."
"Your freedom stops where my nose begins" is one way of putting it.
Tell your boss off; start cussing him out. Then explain to him that you have free speech. See how far you get.
As a Christian, do you have the freedom to curse God? If so, are you really a Christian?
Such "freedom" does have its limitations.
It has its limitations in any corporation, any private business, and this board is a privately owned board with rules which every member agreed to when they registered. They, by their own free will agreed to abide by the restrictions put in place, and post in grace.

You talk as if you are so righteous when you in fact are spreading false statements. Don't be one of those IFB's that wants to seperate him or herself from every other denomination and look down on everyone.
Your explicit purpose as a Pentecostal has been to come here and bash IFB churches and their doctrine. Are you sure you are the one to comment on this?

So does BB have a right to restrict freedom of speech here? If they can't, then they must allow anything short of legal restrictions such as porn or calling for the violent overthrow of the country.

So, does your church allow discussion of any topic and use of any language? Are other people allowed to get up and begin speaking at the same time as the pastor? Can I sit in my seat and yell "You're an idiot" at the pastor the entire service?
If not, then according to you, your church is against freedom of speech.

Our youngest son is an avid fisherman, he is seventeen. Once while on a field trip to a local creek to study environmental issues he proved this point to his Science teacher.
In the creek were several small base. Along the creek bank he found some old fishing line and a hook. He caught a grasshopper too (sorry pEta). His teacher, being more and higher educatedly than he in the way of things informed him there was no way he could catch one of those fish.
He tied his line to a small sappling (ok, I know, this was a green tree sorry tree huggers), cast his bait into the water and caught a fish...
When we picked him up that afternoon (this was a summer day excursion) his teacher was still expressing shock and awe.
In this case, if you give a man a fish you feed him for a day, if you teach him to fish, you feed him for life.
This truth still permits us to eat fresh fish on occassions.
Now, my son threw his fish back that day, but he proved a point to a liberal teacher. That point is that while man needs the necessary presence of Government to prevent anarchy (although it is amazingly a very popular t.v. show (Sons of) Anarchy we have no need of Socialism.

Socialism has been practiced in the US and Canada for a very long time and will continue to be practiced. Anytime Gov't spends money on Social(get the word) Security benefits, medicare, military, etc etc its called socialism. There's nothing wrong with it as long as its not abused and people don't abuse the Gov't benefits. All you neocons out there don't say much when the military industrial complex(Lockheed, Boeing, etc) charges you $1billion for a single plane or $113,000 for a toilet(I saw this in the movie Independence Day).
On a more important note I would like to thank those people who sent me private messages in support of my stance on the freedom of speech and free thinking--this is what your fathers of independence fought for and built a great country. Don't let anyone take that away from you. There are too many radical religious leaders out there(Iran) putting a muzzle on freedom. We don't need the same in both our great countries.
