This shot and my view:

I agree with the following:

  • The govt should make you get the shot

  • The government has the right to prevent you from any building if you dont get the shot

  • The govt should give prizes for getting the shot

  • The govt should require a business to have separate sections for those with the shot

  • A business should be allowed to make their own rules

  • A business should be required to have free masks available

  • allow business charge more 4 not shots to attend a spectator activity as less seats can be sold

  • None of the above

The government should mind their own business, and a business should be able to make their own rules. I think I failed to recognize when I voted, though, that you are talking about them asking whether or not you have had a covid shot. I was initially thinking more about masks, as in "no shoes, no shirt, no shroud, no service". I suppose they can ask, and I can walk out and go somewhere else.

The federal government should decide for federal buildings, the state government for state buildings, and business owners for their place of business.

International travel (perhaps airlines in general) should follow federal guidelines.

There was a polio epidemic in my home town the year after I was born. Thank God he gave Jonas Salk the knowledge to develop a vaccine. Would all of you have been against that vaccine and allowed polio to sweep across America?

As a 2nd grader I was against all shots because they hurt. That includes the 3 I got as a polio pioneer (though the 2nd & 3rd didn't really hurt much.)

Yes, they would have been (but not until Biden became President....when it was Trump's accomplishment Democrats were fools for rejecting it).

Thanks, but I'll leave it. I just confused myself thinking about one thing and posting about another. My general principle is that a store (private business) can set its own boundaries and the customer can as well. If we do not like the store's rules, we go to another.

I don’t believe a business can demand medical information for entry. Where would it end?

Can a business demand your latest A1C test to determine if you can eat carbs or dessert? What about a note from a heart doctor saying you can eat that steak? Let’s issue “cardio passports” so only those with healthy hearts eat the steaks?

Along with a drivers license, how about a genetic profile proving you don’t have the gene for alcoholism? Or a criminal record printout showing no DWI’s?

All those things could make businesses safer, I suppose, but at the cost of liberty.

Make no mistake where it leads. You will have to prove you conform to all the right “thinking” to live your life.

Carry your papers proving good citizenship or you can’t live your life.

peace to you

In hindsight, govt did allow polio vaccine that they knew was dangerous be given and many contracted Polio from it. If govt would always tell the truth, we would believe them. In certain areas, our govt is as big a propoganda machine as the Russian Govt.

Historical Safety Concerns | Vaccine Safety | CDC

There was an early mistake due to the lack of oversight and regulation. These were the things that Trump did his best to do away with in many areas.

In 1955, some batches of polio vaccine given to the public contained live polio virus, even though they had passed required safety testing. Over 250 cases of polio were attributed to vaccines produced by one company: Cutter Laboratories. This case, which came to be known as the Cutter Incident, resulted in many cases of paralysis. The vaccine was recalled as soon as cases of polio were detected.

The Cutter Incident was a defining moment in the history of vaccine manufacturing and government oversight of vaccines, and led to the creation of a better system of regulating vaccines. After the government improved this process and increased oversight, polio vaccinations resumed in the fall of 1955.

For the most part I have found that people will believe what people will believe.

The pro-vaccine people will look at data and reports that support the vaccine as a useful tool in combating COVID-19.

Likewise, the anti-vaccine people will look at the data and reports that support the idea the vaccine is dangerous (more dangerous than the disease) and question its effectiveness.

Just like with theology, people often approach the topic not to gather information and make an educated decision but to gather information that supports their already held conclusions.

How the Polio Vaccine Virus Occasionally Becomes Dangerous

The Cutter Incident: How America's First Polio Vaccine Led to a Growing Vaccine Crisis

It caused 40,000 cases of polio, but who's counting?
The polio vaccine today is causing cases of polio. Who cares about that either?

Vaccines are a calculated risk. Govt needs to stop saying they are safe. Tell the risks and let an educated population decide for themselves. My blood pressure medicine comes with a leaflet telling me about every possible side effect and the relative possibilities. Why don't vaccines? I believe the govt knows that if people knew the actual risks, most would not vaccinate. Then we would have mass disease outbreaks. So, the govt lies to us.
The FDA refuses to do the double blind Autism testing Congress ordered them to do 20 years ago. Wonder why? Pretty simple test to do. I believe it's because they know what the outcome would be. Of what they say is true, they could do a double blind and shut that rumor down. Why not do it? We all know why.

Every move is a calculated risk, I agree.

Unfortunately technology has clouded people's ability to gather information.

If a virologist at your church tells you the vaccine is the best thing since sliced bread will you believe him? I doubt it, you already have someone you consider an expert telling you the vaccine is dangerous (granted, all vaccines pose a danger, but you have been told the danger outweighs any potential benefit).

The internet is like that. I can find a scientist that "proves" the Earth is flat. I can also find scientific who prove the opposite. I can find scientists who confirm evolution as a fact and others who say it is impossible.

My point is the determining factor of "truth" is the individual receiving the information.

People do not want truth. People want support for positions they already hold.

I want truth.
I don't think I am getting truth form the govt. I started out very pro vaccine.
