God imputes righteousness to His elect.

...as articulated in the invert:

8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Ro 4 (Ps 32:2)

...OT and NT Saints alike:

2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. Ps 32 (Rom 4:8)

Romans 4:6-8 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, saying,

Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. (KJV)
LOL, Romans 4:6 refers to God crediting worthless faith as righteousness, just read Romans 4:5!!!!!!

Your reference to Romans 4:5 is answered in the new thread entitled, "The Doctrine Of Imputed Righteousness Without Works, Asserted And Proved".

You cannot rewrite scripture, the reference is to God crediting faith, not people!!!

In Romans 4:5 it says that the elect do not work, they have faith in God Who justifies the ungodly(which all people are by nature, including the elect before God regenerates them). Upon regeneration, the elect are given faith and repentance by God(Ephesians 2:8, Acts 11:18) and they believe in God Who justifies the ungodly. Thus, faith is not a work of man, it is a gift which God gives based on the perfect righteousness of His Son, a righteousness which He imputes to the elect, so that they stand legally justified before God. No man can stand legally justified before God based on anything he does. The only standard for legal justification is the righteousness of Christ imputed to a person, for there is nothing a person can do, no act he can perform, no mental assent he can make, to acquire such a perfect righteousness. Legal justification is only acquired by the imputation of Christ's righteousness to an ungodly person, such as the elect are prior to God regenerating them.

LOL, again, all people are ungodly before God regenerates them. That is my position. Recall the washing of regeneration?

Next, in a parade of falsehood, we get the bogus claim of the gift of faith. More hogwash to hide hogwash.

Again, no verse or passage says or suggests we are made righteous by imputation. It is false doctrine. We are made righteous by the circumcision of Christ, the washing of regeneration.

God credits the faith of OT and NT saints as righteousness. No verse or passage say God imputes Christ's righteousness to believers. Romans 5:19 says we are made righteous.

@Van

The washing of regeneration is a work of God upon the elect when He regenerates them in replacing their stony heart with a heart of flesh and grants them faith and repentance. It is compared to water as water has a purifying quality, making it an appropriate metaphor.

Romans 4:6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: (NKJV) (emphasis mine)

@Van Whose righteousness is God imputing to this man described in Romans 4:6?

More hogwash!! Yes the washing of regeneration occurs when He regenerates and replaces the stony heart. But this outright false claim of the gift of faith is an obscene addition.

Are you serious? Are you that ignorant of the topic?

Folks, everyone should be LOL. When God credits a sinners faith as righteousness, the crediting is God's. Talk about questions based on nonsense!

The idiotic assertion that God is somehow ascribing Christ's righteousness to a sinners faith just shows the level of gibberish being presented.

God creates us for the faith that He already gifted to us to have??
Scripture does not say God credits us, it says God credits the faith of sinners as righteousness. Note the constant misrepresentation of scripture. God credited Abraham's faith!!!!

the Father imputes to us righteousness of Lord Jesus, declaring us fully and freely justified by the Cross period!

False teachers make claims of their own invention, such as we were made righteous by God ascribing Christ's righteousness to us. Total fiction, found no where in scripture.

Romans 5:19 says those God chooses and places into Christ spiritually are then made righteous. Other verses tell us of the washing of regeneration (Titus 3:5) and the circumcision of Christ (Colossians 2:11).

There are two types of righteousness. Christ's imputed righteousness saves us apart from our works. And our works that cannot save us but they reap heavenly rewards in the resurrection. Paul calls these wood hay and stubble works that are burnt up in their worst form. And they yield zero but do not affect our salvation.

More false claims, more fiction.
To repeat for the umpteenth time, no verse or passage says or suggests Christ's righteousness is imputed (ascribed). None, Zip, Nada! Full stop.

How are we made righteous? In Christ we undergo the washing of regeneration, the circumcision of Christ. (Titus 3:5, Colossians 2:11)

God would be unjust if Christ did not first pay for your sins, and if God did not impute Christ's righteousness to you before saving you. There's no basis for your salvation without these acts of grace.
