Those who teach a general redemption, that Christ died for everyone, yet knowing everyone isnt saved or going to be saved, that means they deny the saving death of Christ. Christs death/stripes heals, saves, brings about ones salvation !
You need to have the gospel of Jesus Christ presented to you one time in the context of the gospel of God because you do not know either.
There would never have been a gospel of Jesus Christ that brings salvation to individuals if there had not been in the counsel of God a gospel of God. I will make this short and sweet and assume that you know something about Jehovah in world history, though I know that is dangerous.
The theme of the New Testament ministry of Paul, the apostle to the gentiles, meaning the apostle to the nations, is the gospel of God. This theme is introduced in the very first sentence in the first epistle that appears in the canon of scripture that is addressed to gentiles, Rom 1:1.. The sentence is 7 verses long but this theme is the beginning of the sentence, the first thing mentioned in verse 1 and is the reason for the apostle Paul, who was not a part of the apostolic band of the twelve. Paul calls the gospel of God, "my gospel," and for good reason. Here is his reason stated succinctly Here;
Eph 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
I know! I know! This cannot penetrate your minds and so I am saying very little of the lot I could say about this but you will not receive it. I will give you what Paul under the inspiration of God said the definition of the gospel of God is. And you notice the wording.
Rom 16:24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel (
which has been established in the epistle as being the gospel of God), and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
.Try that on for size. The obedience of faith. I want you to see this one other point.
During the previous two thousand years of human history before Jesus died and rose again, God dealt with the nation he raised up from Abraham. The gentiles had no relationship with God. They had no prescribed blood atonement or offering to bring to God as a peace offering. Therefore God could not reconcile the nations and there was enmity between him and them. Then Jesus came into the world as a man and died an atoning death because he was the perfect sacrifice, having neither blot or stain. The nations now have a blood sacrifice they can bring to God and that is the good news from God. God provided it himself. Now I want you to read this next three verses very carefully and take time to read the context. It is written to gentiles after the cross and tells us some amazing good news.
Ep 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being
in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That
at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
What you are preaching about Jesus Christ is not the gospel of God. The gospel of God is that Jesus Christ is his answer for all men. He has made peace between God and man and God will receive any and all who will come to him in the name of Jesus Christ. The gospel of God includes the gospel of Christ. Jesus Christ has been provided to us as our blood sacrifice.
I encourage you to believe it.
