Please, get back on track....What is dangerous about the NLT? What doctrines are denied by this translation?
The subject of this thread is the NLT. So I have asked you what doctrines are denied by this translation. Surely if you think it is a dangerous translation you could come up with something or do you merely want to lob mud and not answer easy questions?Please, get back on track....

Don't accuse someone of being a prevaricator while prevaricating yourself.I don't "lob mud." You are a prevaricator to an infinite degree. .
I understood you You do have the Living which was a Paraphrase. The NLT is a translation. It is not a paraphrase. You can consider a Jack Ass to be a Horse, but it does not make it one.I didn't state it WAS a paraphrase. I stated that this is what I consider it. Comprehension...Always comprehension.
Its appropriate for one just saved, just reading the bible, but should migrate in time to a more formal translationI don't see anywhere where anyone is saying this...please, feel free to point it out.
You mean all along AVL has been talking about the old Living Bible, despite using the term NLT? Man, the NLT in its various editions has been around for more than a quarter of a century and he hasn't caught onto basic facts yet?I understood you You do have the Living which was a Paraphrase. I honestly am not sure but he seems to be mixing the two.You mean all along AVL has been talking about the old Living Bible, despite using the term NLT? Man, the NLT in its various editions has been around for more than a quarter of a century and he hasn't caught onto basic facts yet?
Not my favorite, but it is a translation and not a paraphrase.There is the on going problem attacking persons and not the issues. I do not even like the so called NLT.
The KJV and NKJV have more paraphrases than you would be willing to admit. "Long live the King" --"God save the king" and "God forbid" are some classic examples.The NLT is a sometimes translation. And then it is sometimes opinion and not God's word.
Worse.Not my favorite, but it is a translation and not a paraphrase.
So what?The KJV and NKJV have more paraphrases than you would be willing to admit. "Long live the King" --"God save the king" and "God forbid" are some classic examples.
"He existed before anything was created" is not necessary in the passage. However, "is supreme over all creation" is perfectly appropriate.Worse.
Colossians 1:15, . . . πρωτοτοκος πασης κτισεως . . .
<as>
. . . He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, . . .
I didn't say anything about KJVonlyism.So what?
I have been using the KJV over 50 years. And I am against KJV onlyism.
Not what the word of God said in . . . . πρωτοτοκος πασης κτισεως . . . ." Which refers to incarnate Christ's bodily resurrection as part of His own creation. He being Creator, verses 16-17. Big difference in what verse 15 means."He existed before anything was created" is not necessary in the passage. However, "is supreme over all creation" is perfectly appropriate.
