At the end of the day Trump is the best we have. HRC would have been even more anti-Christian, people can say what they will but no amount of justification makes her agenda better.

See my hope is always in God and the Gospel, and He can work amazing things.
Ultimately it is the Gospel that will change this country, not the SC and that is what must never be lost sight of. I never have to loose Hope because I know who is on the throne.
Yes in this case He put Trump in the White House, just like He put Obama in the White House 8 years ago. But God's will is never for Christians to sin. God did not need Christians to violate their convictions 8 years ago to put Obama in the White House, nor did He need me to sin 3 months ago to put Trump in the White House.
Again seeing "Christians" on FB dance around baby killing and Pedophilia
(Milo comments) because of their vote for Trump shows the dangers of pragmatism and putting ones hope in a person instead of Trusting God. One could argue that Shadrach Meshach and Abednego were giving up their influence in government by refusing to compromise their morals, or that Daniel was giving up his place of power and influence for refusing to compromise yet those are great heros of the faith because they stood firm like a brick wall (Thanks to the Trump Supporter here who gave me that nick name) and they were blessed by God because of it. You cannot point to a single story in the Bible where compromising on morals and God's commands ever led to blessings.

David disobeyed God and numbered the people, and resulted in 70,000 people deaths
Israel refused to take the land and they wandered the desert for 40 years.
Any read though of Judges shows what happens when a nation compromises God's standards.

Sounds to me like putting God to the test. Instead of doing the right thing and voting for the life of others, you put your personal feelings first. You don't like Trump and even though he was going to do the right things, you couldn't vote for someone you don't personally like (just look at the way you talk about him). So you said to heck with the unborn, let God save them. That's not love my dear, that's hatred.
You mentioned it being sinful to vote for Trump, but I would challenge it may have been sinful not to. There is no mandate against voting for non-Christians, but there is a mandate against murder of the innocent.
Also where is your love for people in general? Do you know how smug you sound? Is Trump more sinful that David? Or Paul? Do his past sins rival theirs? I bet Paul would have something interesting to say about that? Does God want you ripping people about their past? Would you have been the smug with Paul? Are you this smug with young Christians or seekers?

Certainly after we've done all we can to help others, we depend on God to help them. But if we allow personal hatred and vitriol to keep us from doing the right thing, and fall back on the premise, "God can do it without me," this is not virtue. This is not even Christianity. James says it's sin.

Doing the right thing is never putting God to the test, unless you really want to the argue that Daniel and his friends tested God by doing the right thing.
Trump is going to do what is "right" for him. Any honest look at his campaign shows that along with his beliefs for might makes right. And the pragmatism that is involved in supporting him shows its not about what is right but the ends and I adamantly reject the ends justifying the means. There is no end that justify sinning. As I said you will never find God blessing sinful behavior.
No one that praises Baby Killing Planned Parenthood gets any pro life points from me. So I voted for someone who is solid on the Pro Life Issue.
There was no mandate against eating meat sacrificed to idols and yet Paul makes it clear that if your conscience is not clear on that issue it would be sinful. My conscience would not allow me to vote for Trump so therefore yes it would have been sinful.
No Trump is not more sinful than David or Paul or even me for that matter (I am well aware of what a depraved Wretch I am apart from the Grace of God), but number of sins is not the criteria I have for voting. My criteria is very simple 1. Are they 100% pro life and 2. Are they a Constitutional Conservative. Trump fails on both of those criteria.
So if Trusting the Gospel to be the agent of change in this country Rom 1:16 and refusing to violate my conscience Rom 14:23 and knowing that God is on the throne regardless of who is in the Whitehouse or on the SC makes me Smug so be it. What you call smug I call being not ashamed of God's way of working.

Daniel and his friends did the right thing by not bowing down to a false God. Voting from Trump is not akin to this, in fact Daniel accepted a pagan as his King. Trump voters are actually more like Daniel than you are.

Perhaps if Trump lost you could have made this claim. You're probably bummed he won and nominated Gorsuch. I don't even need to respond, except one word...Gorsuch.
You will never convince me that sinning is being more like Daniel and his friends. They stood for right even though it meant they may lose influence. Yes Daniel accepted a pagan King just like I accept Trump is the President. I roll my eyes at the Left's howls of not my president. He is as much President as Obama was for the last 8 years and I will treat him the same, holding his feet to the Constitution and his supporters to facts.
Yes doing what God wants is the right thing to do. Sinning is never the right thing to do. Even if the consequences of not sinning may seem bad at the time it is still the right thing to do, that should not be a hard concept to understand.
Given that it has been made abundantly clear by another Trump Supporter here how insignificant my vote was, I find it interesting that you want to say that my single vote has caused pain to people. You can't have it both ways either I'm insignificant voting for the tooth fairy as you have said or I can cause harm by not sinning with my vote.
I don't think being considered the head of the free world, getting to fly on Air Force One, living in the White House is really a step down for anyone. Given that I know the historical reason why Presidents get a salary I actually am troubled by the precident it sets up by him refusing a salary. Our country is oligarchal enough as it is without introducing the idea that only someone who can not have a salary for 4 years shluld be president.
I posted a video of him praising baby killing planned parenhood. Yes the second time he did so he added the addition about "except abortion" but that makes no sense given that baby killing planned parenhood purpose is to kill babies. 86% of their income comes from killing babies. That's like saying I think guns are wonderful except when they fire bullets. It's an incongruous statement. Guns are designed to fire bullets and Planned Parenthood is set up to kill babies. It's interesting that you have a problem with me calling them out for being baby killers.
I was shocked that Trump won and I posted that I was wrong about my predictions here for all to see and gloat over. I was not bummed as I Trust God and know that His purpose will always happen. I can rest assured that He knows what He is doing. I will admit I was bummed when he won the GOP primary because I knew regardless of what happened in November we would not have a conservative in the Whitehouse, but I read Daniel to help remind myself that God raises up and brings down leaders according to His will and Purpose and I could rest in that assurance.

Yes Gorsuch who has no record of his position on Roe v Wade. So given SC history I'm going to wait to see what he does. And given some statements he has made we could be in for a ride one way or another.
