Just about everyone has at some point or another season. The only team playing consistently from Day One has been the Giants, though the Brewers and A's have pretty good records both at home and on the road..
I wonder why that is? Did the novelty of the new manager wear off, and the guys are back to doing whatever they want?
Giants have been crazy good. What is shocking about the A's is their run differential--it's at +130. That's insane! The next closest team for run differential leadership is the Giants at +53.
I'm guessing injuries. I think the coaching staff is solid.

I'd say that's probably right. Just looked at their injury list since spring training at Sports Illustrated -- 11 players on the DL for a total of 255 days, with a number of occasions a player was listed "day-to-day." And it isn't even the end of June yet! Wow!

Alfredo Simon has been an awesome surprise. He is 9-3 w/2.98 ERA. Once Latos gets back fully in the starting rotation, I think Cingrani will go to the bullpen for long relief or to AAA. He just struggles way too much and isn't pitch conserative in the least. He can have 95 pitches in 5 or less innings.
If I am the Reds, I'm dangling Cueto to some team to get their farm system. He'll command upwards 25-30 million per when his next contract comes due, imo. He's only 27-28, so he'll get some big time $$$. Plus we have the likes of Chapman, Latos, and Bruce coming up for new contracts in the not-so-distant future to try to secure. We're just not that big of a market team, even when the new TV deal gets in place, to sign all these guys.
Also have Simon on my fantasy team.
New TV deal is already in place and will give each team approximately $25M - $30M per team per year. It shouldn't be a problem.
I was shocked when the Twins signed DH Kendry Morales to a $12M contract last week (when pro-rated they will pay $7.5M the rest of the season.) That's not the sort of move that the Twins have ever made.

I was also shocked. He wanted to come to Kansas City, too, and Dayton Moore passed. We've already got a failing DH.
He may be hitting .462 now, but that's in only 13 at bats. He's not going to continue at that pace, obviously, and I wouldn't be surprised if he fell well below his career average of .281.
What do you consider "well below"? I don't think he'll fall below .270; he might hit .300. There's a lot of room in the alleys at Target Field.
And what's with adding an 's' to your first name a couple of years ago? He goes by Kendrys, not Kendry nowadays.

There is in Comerica Park, too. In the Twinks game at Detroit yesterday he was 1-for-4, no RBI, .000 with RISP, and 2Ks. That's more like the season I suspect he's going to have. If not for Esky's homer in the 3rd and two-out RBI in the ninth, you're in extra innings against a deeper bullpen.
Supposedly he "discovered" his birth certificate has the "s" that he never knew about.
Meanwhile the Royals are a game and a half back of first and tied in the win column, after jumping on Chicago starter Jose Quintana for five runs in the first and winning 7-2. Go Twins (for two more days, that is)!!

Four game series, Royals-Tigers, starts tonight at Comerica Park, with KC a game and a half back. Rarely do you see such an important series come along this early in the season. The Royals are on a seven game winning streak, and have won 11 of their last 15, making them the hottest team in baseball right now. Should be a great series!
If the Royals win, they could suddenly have the confidence and the impetus to win the Central. If they lose, it could be disastrous a young team which still operates a lot on emotion .
And tonight's game starts just about the time Ghana-USA is over in Brazil. The sports gurus timing is impeccable! :laugh:

I would never call the Tigers bullpen "deep". They gave up 6 ER's in 7.2 IP to the Twins over the weekend. Their bullpen is pretty lousy, ahem, last in the AL in ERA, second to last in BAA, second to last in K's, last in SLG% allowed.

And the Royals have eight in a row now, 9-of-10 and 12-of-16. Going for the AL Central lead tonight, Yordano Ventura (4-5, 3.20 ERA) vs. Max Scherzer (8-2, 3.05). Should be another great game. Detroit almost got back into it last night with that 9th-inning slam by J.D. Martinez.
Lately, the Royals are playing with their hair on fire. Enjoy it.
Elsewhere, I think all those games Leyland had Verlander throwing 120-130 pitches have caught up to him. He's not very good this year.
Sawx pull one out last night against the Twins, and are getting ready to go again.
It's strange to hear someone say their team "pulled one out against the Twins" as if their team is the underdog! The Twins' worst pitcher gives up only one run, meanwhile the Twins can't score and lose the game 1-0. Ouch!
