tongue speakers please answer

This seems to be one of those "Add to" threads!

The folks at my church are doing just fine with the tongue(language) they have already--English!

I speak to God the Father in English! He doesn't seem to be disappointed that I know no other prayer language.

 

DHK, I cant believe you would actually say something like that. Where would you like us to go other than Acts?

Do you want Old Testement or New?

I can use almost every book in the bible that shows you gods Plan. Save a few. And if I studied them I could probably find it there too.

I can show you all through out the bible where God used, Blood, water, Spirit as a means to save his people.

As I have said before, i will say again, The old testament is a School master that leads us to Christ in the New. If you are going to studey Trig we need to make sure our adding and subtracting is correct before we move on.

If we study the old test. It will lead us to Christ and it will allow us to understand who he is in the New. Without seperateing him, without devideing him, and without devideing him into parts.

If you want to take me down the romans road thats find. Im sure you can get along ways with that. But with the Romans road you stop with Repentance. There is still more that God has for us. We still need to go on and be baptized in the Name of Jesus. We still need to receive the baptisim of the Holy Ghost.

Susan, this just shows your lack of Knowledge on devideing the word of truth.

The book of Romans was not written to the church of Rome to instruct them on how to be saved. Study to show your self approved and you will see what I am saying is truth. The Epistle that was written to the church of Rome was a letter that was written not to instruct salvation. These guys were already saved. It was a letter for instruction, just like all the other epistles.

Unfortunately there is not a whole lot of hunger. But there is a lot of rebellious denial of the truth, and a devout determination to justify a wrong position no matter what the cost.
Take MEE for example, he either refuses or cannot (and I believe the latter) explain the way of salvation in any one of 65 books of the Bible (i.e. any excluding Acts). He must have Acts or he cannot explain salvation. Most people know what the gospel is, where to find it in the Bible, and some people could show you how to be saved from just about every book of the Bible. If tongues were so essential for us to have, surely the Lord would tell us that it would be mandatory. But no where does He command us to have this gift, and no where does He even suggest for one to seek after this gift.

I told you in a previous post that This is a walk in the park, but if you insist let the games begin. And let me say this. Let me see you show someone salvation without the book of acts.

Without that book you have no history of the first Church. And you have no history of the first messege ever preached on the day of pentecost.

Yes most people know what the gospel is. According to you it Matthew Mark Luke and John, but according to Jesus it is his Death, burial, and ressurection. And we are told to obey that.

And I have told you I can show you in just about every book of the Bible. But the only problem is if you just use one book you leave the rest out. And thats exactly what you and the rest of your friends like to do. Its called takeing it out of context. I know you belive in takeing a verse out of context but I dont guess you believe that you can take a book out of context do you?

And again we are not referring to the gift of tongues.

Why would anyone want to say what this man says. Acts 2:38 will send someone to hell. Is this really what you believe?

 

There wasn't a Christian in the bunch, and the word ''Christian " does not occur in your Bible until Acts 11:26. Pentecost, then, is the opening of a dispensation of the HOIY Ghost when everything occured at one time simultaneously, and never occured that way again, until Acts 10, where it occured for the last time, and then, NOT on the day of Pentecost.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself. You did not quote what he said at all!

Here is the full quote:
"He (Paul) told you the doctrine that you received from the heart, not just in the head, is the one that saves you. The author was referring to the ones that the disciples were preaching to, the unsaved Jews, some of whom later became saved (about 3000). They were described quite accurately by the author. They were the ones that took Christ and crucified him as Peter accused them of doing in his sermon.
