DHK, I cant believe you would actually say something like that. Where would you like us to go other than Acts?Originally posted by DHK:

For someone who can't explain the plan of salvation using any of the other 65 books of the Bible, but must rely on only one book (Acts), I wouldn't come near that person, except to evangelize and show the right way of salvation.I only said that I would like to hear what Patrick says, about his beliefs, instead of what you think.

Susan, this just shows your lack of Knowledge on devideing the word of truth.Originally posted by susanpet:
DHK, you hit the nail on the head. The book of Acts is the ONLY source they go to.
The book of Romans is an excellent source to read about salvation.
Granny~ I have to say, you got guts, girl!I admire your style. I believe most onenesses don't want to leave their church because of the "experience" they have had. They enjoy it too much.![]()

The folks at my church are doing just fine with the tongue(language) they have already--English!
I speak to God the Father in English! He doesn't seem to be disappointed that I know no other prayer language.
Unfortunately there is not a whole lot of hunger. But there is a lot of rebellious denial of the truth, and a devout determination to justify a wrong position no matter what the cost.Originally posted by DHK:

I think people are really interested in this subject!!!!!!!
This subject seems to be an ongoing subject on this board. Sounds like there is a hunger here!!!!
Yes I would have to say there is alot of hunger. And there are alot of rebellion and denial of the truth, And I believe that "MEE" has a devout determination to show you the truth no matter what the cost.Unfortunately there is not a whole lot of hunger. But there is a lot of rebellious denial of the truth, and a devout determination to justify a wrong position no matter what the cost.
I told you in a previous post that This is a walk in the park, but if you insist let the games begin. And let me say this. Let me see you show someone salvation without the book of acts.Take MEE for example, he either refuses or cannot (and I believe the latter) explain the way of salvation in any one of 65 books of the Bible (i.e. any excluding Acts). He must have Acts or he cannot explain salvation.
Yes most people know what the gospel is. According to you it Matthew Mark Luke and John, but according to Jesus it is his Death, burial, and ressurection. And we are told to obey that. Most people know what the gospel is, where to find it in the Bible, and some people could show you how to be saved from just about every book of the Bible. If tongues were so essential for us to have, surely the Lord would tell us that it would be mandatory. But no where does He command us to have this gift, and no where does He even suggest for one to seek after this gift.

It could also be said from our sideUnfortunately there is not a whole lot of hunger. But there is a lot of rebellious denial of the truth, and a devout determination to justify a wrong position no matter what the cost.
I copied this from the link given by another reply. Guys this doesn't look exactly sound to me. Not only that but it approaches racism in the phrasology. In Acts 2, at Pentecost, those who spoke in tongues were circumcised, bearded, pork-abstaining, Sabbath-observing, temple-worshipping Jews. There wasn't a Christian in the bunch,
Granny you really should not embarass people like that. Who ever wrote that is getting laughed at.Originally posted by GrannyGumbo:

Than do it ONENESS. Actually it was MEE, that my original challenge was issued to. But I doubt if you could do it either. All you do is beat around the bush. Show me the plan of salvation in the Book of Romans, a theological treatise on soteriology, the doctrine of salvation. Everything you need to know about salvation is contained within that book. Demonstrate the plan of salvation through that book. Use any other book if you want, EXCEPT the Book of ACTS. Why do you have to rely upon just one book such as the book of Acts? Because that is precisely what a cult does?DHK, I cant believe you would actually say something like that. Where would you like us to go other than Acts?
Do you want Old Testement or New?
I can use almost every book in the bible that shows you gods Plan. Save a few. And if I studied them I could probably find it there too.
I can show you all through out the bible where God used, Blood, water, Spirit as a means to save his people.

It is with a quote like this, ONENESS, that you show your ignorance of the Bible. Are you not the one that said this, and I quote:The book of Romans was not written to the church of Rome to instruct them on how to be saved. Study to show your self approved and you will see what I am saying is truth. The Epistle that was written to the church of Rome was a letter that was written not to instruct salvation. These guys were already saved. It was a letter for instruction, just like all the other epistles.
"Granny you really should not embarass people like that. Who ever wrote that is getting laughed at. Granny I hold you in contempt."
It seems like Granny knows her Bible a lot better than you do and what not make such naive and ridiculous statements as this. You are an embarassment to the board by your shallowness in Bible doctrine. Read the book of Romans for yourself in you have never read it before. It is a book of doctrine. It's theme is salvation. Whether or not it is written to believers or unbelievers is totally irrelevant. It was of course written to the believers at Rome. But the Epistle was a thesis on the subject of salvation through the blood of Christ, that salvation could come through faith alone, and not by works. Read and study Romans ONENESS! Or are you afraid of what you might find out!!!!!

How you do skirt around the issue! Your inference "if you just use one book you leave the rest out," is inane! A logical conclusion of that statement would be that to present the gospel I would have to go through all 66 books of the Bible (which you do not) in order to present it. Tell me, do you include the Song of Solomon when you present the gospel? That is what your statement infers. Don't leave the rest of the books out ONENESS, (including Acts). What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Now, I want you to present the plan of salvation using all 66 books of the Bible in your plan not omitting one, for that is exactly what you implied. Have fun.And I have told you I can show you in just about every book of the Bible. But the only problem is if you just use one book you leave the rest out. And thats exactly what you and the rest of your friends like to do. Its called takeing it out of context. I know you belive in takeing a verse out of context but I dont guess you believe that you can take a book out of context do you?
And again we are not referring to the gift of tongues.

Are they going to try to tell me that the 12 were never Christian. Terminology aside, the word says "by their fruit you shall know them" and I'm pretty confident in my study of God's word that the 12 had pretty awesome fruit.

Go back and study it some more. Try demonstrating the plan of salvation without the Book of Acts? Why can't you people do that? You might as well rip those other 65 books of the Bible right out of the covers of your Bible. Why not! you don't need them. Acts is all you need.Granny is this your church???
Why would anyone want to say what this man says. Acts 2:38 will send someone to hell. Is this really what you believe?
