Don't worry guys we not leaving Christ out of this. The Apostles Doctrine are the things Christ taught the Apostles.

The Apostles Doctrine:

Doing what the Apostles did, teaching what they taught, live how they lived. Everything the Apostles did was a dirct of what Jesus told them to do.

Part of that Doctrine is Teaching Repentance and remission of Sins in Jesus Name among all Nations.

Do the SDA teach that? Do you guys teach repentance? I know you do!

But on the other hand do you guys hold the same monothesitc views the apostles held? And what I mean by that is: Has the SDA adopted a doctrine of a triune God that was never taught by the Apostles?

The Apostles believed in One God. They gave the Godhead no Seperation of Persons. If so we would have found it stated. We know they held to the fact that God was absolutly one b/c Jesus told them to Baptize in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. They Did that by Baptizing in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Acts 2:38 and many other verses let us know they Knew who the Son was.

So as far as the Apostles are concerned and their Doctrine they knew God was One.

Do you believe God was One has the Apostles believed and taught or do you hold to the beliefs and teachings of the Council of Nicea that God was one but three?

No, actually all staunch believers tend to pursue soulwinning tasks.
That was my biggest gripe with the home church I grew up in. They
were out there in the world trying to convert. It appeared to me that
they were trying to convert other believers to their system. That's
what it seems the SDA is doing. Why isn't it enough to let believers
be believers ? Can we believe in Jesus Christ wrongly ? NO !!

My concern is with unbelievers. They need to know Christ. I can find
hundreds of them in the bars and in my everyday life who don't even
know the Gospel story.

While alot of you are concerned about turning Catholics into Adventists
or Adventists into Baptists,..............Satan is having a heyday with
the unbelievers and you're not even doing anything about it.

Ok....alot of you have projects and programs to win the heathen, but why
the big push with those of other churches? If they come and hear your
message, then it's their choice, but there are just as many Baptists out
there who are probably appealing to Adventists. And we know the Catholic
Church has a vigorous program to add to their membership.

I'm sorry....it's a game they all play and they all use the bible as their basis.
So to give the advice "Avoid those who teach a contrary doctrine", never
ends. Once their drafted in to the Adventist church lets say.......then a Baptist
could appeal to them ....backed by that same verse to win them to their
side. It's a ratrace and there's no end.

The goal is to Go and Tell....to win people to Christ...NOT to win people to
a Denomination.

I am one. You want to know why? Because the church I was in was FALSE.

Jesus told the Pharisees they were misleading and decieving people and making proselytes of people and that the outcome is that the 'converts' were more a child of hell than they were before they were converted.



Which is worse:

Someone who lives wickedly, lives to themselves, shows no remorese, has a good time, etc.

OR

Someone who ackoweldges Jesus with their lips and walks out the door and denys them by their lifestyle?

If you aren't going to teach the people you are trying to convert to ACTUALLY BE CONVERTED, then you are teaching them falsehoods, and making them more a child of hell than they were before.

It is MORE than just COMING.

You stopped at the first step. Stagnant.

When we get stagnant the water get's COLD.

Keep movin' to stay HOT. That moving isn't just teachin' people to 'say a little prayer' and they are good to go.

JESUS said the TEACH them the THINGS that I commanded YOU.

Do you do that?

The SDA church is doing EXACTLY what it is supposed to be doing.

God called out a Remnant from among HIS people to reach HIS people. We have a 3 fold purpose.

Expose error within the church.
Reach the lost for Christ.
Reach the saved that are in that error.

There is nothing wrong with me or any other SDA teaching a Baptist or a Catholic the truth from the Bible.

"in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

Which is? Jehovah.

What is the name of the Lord Jesus? Why say that, if HIS NAME is Jesus? He said Himself that He CAME in HIS Father's NAME.

What is GOD'S name?

Jehovah

Jesus was the EXPRESS image of Jehovah.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus (Rom.8:1)
Jesus said: "I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish; my father which gaveth them me is greater than all, and no man shall pluck them out of my father's hand. I and my father are one. (John 10:28-30).

What is eternal life if it is not eternal? It is a lie from Jesus, a sin that you would accuse him of?? If Christ gave me eternal life (and he did), and it should be taken away or lost, then it would be no longer eternal but temporary, and Christ would be a liar. Are you willing to accuse him of this?

**Didn't mean to upset you. You said that you were baptized in the IFB church, first, and then in the SDA church later.

If memory serves me correctly, they both baptize in the triune formula. So, your first and second water baptisms were neither done in the name of Jesus Christ, as was done in the Bible. Right?

I was baptized by an SDA preacher in the name of Jesus.

He said "I baptize you, my Christian sister, in the name of the Father, His Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, buried with Him in baptism, raised to walk in newness of life"

As far as the Africans go, what exactly is your point in this dispute? Cut to the chase, will ya? Have you never seen an unconverted person in church before? It happens sister! All the time. When people who are 'church goers' their whole lives finally SEE God, they are converted. They had a head knowledge but had never gotten it in their heart. I think I would even be safe to say that there are some people on this very board who have not been converted. They know allot, and have learned allot, but they don't know God. It is sad, but it happens.

Can't you just be happy that souls were saved and lives changed for Jesus, and the Kingdom of God?

As for me not constantly referring to the bible as my source...
it has been such an abused practice to do so. Doesn't it bother
you that 26,001 denominations all use the bible as their source
and nearly all translate it differently..? I went through a time
recently with a few Catholics who quote more scripture than you
do and (except for my clinging to the simple gospel)....might have
converted me.

I know that Adventists quote the bible too because I read alot
of the book by E. White. It struck me at the time that NONE of
my favorite verses were in that book. You can imagine those I'm
referring to. *The saved by grace, whosoever will verses. !!!!

As for commandments, it is a commandment to "Come unto me
ye who labour and are heavy laden" (Jesus). I did that. We all
do that in the beginning. It is enough to save us. Rules added
beyond that become baggage....dirty laundry....things that we
wrongfully cling to as "righteousness". HE is our righteousness.
Our baggage (works) is as dirty laundry (filthy rags).
That's my take on it.

Now we're getting somewhere. I asked that same question
to the Catholics I debated with and they said that in witnessing
they would suggest that a person comes to mass every Sunday after
joining the ''church'' that Jesus commanded them to (all from the
bible of course). Nothing was said about the simple "come unto me"
or "accepting the Lord". They don't even believe in "accepting the
Lord". Here is a direct quote from one of those conversations with
a Catholic

Nowhere will you find that simply believing in Jesus will save you,
but rather we will gain eternal life through
perseverence in good works.

Do you see how you're saying the same thing ? (Salvation by works).

And of course the commandments and works that the Catholic
suggested were a little different from yours and directed the
new possible convert into the Catholic Church. Your approach is
to direct a believer into the Adventist church.

My witnessing in the bar is to direct a person to the need
to believe in the Lord. His choice of church is between him and
the Lord. However, I do discourage a clinging on to rules and
regulations as anything that would save him. The gospel is
simple....I don't cloud it with secondary issues when witnessing.


From being raised in a home church exclusive group and from
hearing all these (Cath. SDA. Mormon) approaches to witnessing,
I truly feel that the basics are usually left out.

I disagree with it too but the Catholics have a huge selection
of bible verses to support their salvation by works and then
they deny it every time it's referred to.

You're doing the same thing with the Sabbath. You
say works do not save us but yet you say it's important to
be literally obedient to all 10 of the Commandments. One
commandment says "Thou shalt not kill". Yet you pay your
taxes to our great nation that spends so much on national
defense out of necessity to prevent being taken over by our
enemies. Part of that necessity to provide you with freedom
of religion and freedom of movement along with all the abundant
food, nice cars, jobs etc is the provision that those who protect
you will risk their lives to either kill or be killed.

So for you to pay your taxes, salute our flag and thank God for
freedom IS to support the killing of our enemies. Just
imagine that even 50 cents of your hard earned money has gone
to buy the bullet that killed the last Palestinian via the Israeli Army.
Does that condemn you? Our enemy would consider YOU a
killer and there are many today who would gladly kill you just
for being an American.

You can't run and you can't hide.....you support killing in that way.

Same word there 'murderer' is translated 'kill' in the Commandment.

It should read 'thou shalt not murder'.
