This is one issue for which I am "liberal" (I guess).

I don't like the death penalty but tolerate it.

If "life" really meant LIFE I would oppose the death penalty.

To me a true life sentence with the prisoner dying in prison is tantamount to the death penalty.

The only exception would be if his/her innocence was proven after the crime.
