What kind of strikes?
Air strikes.

Cruise missiles?
Don't know.

What did they hit?
Don't know.

If they were cruise missiles, how many?
Don't know. (But when we struck last year we knew it was 59 cruise missiles and we knew the targets.)

What have we accomplished?
Apparently nothing. It's a warning shot across the bow, I'd say.

My point is that there are no details about the attack. Not like there was last year. Or when we dropped the bunker buster last year.

There were videos of the 59 cruise missiles being launched last year. There were satellite photos of the pockmarked airport runways where the cruise missiles hit. This year--nothing (so far).

Don't know.

From CNN's reporting:

This looks to be air strikes using stand off weapons. We apparently used B1 bombers with air launched cruise missiles, tomahawk cruise missiles launched from ships in the Mediterranean and Red Seas, and the British used air launched cruise missiles, no definitive data on the French weapons but they likely used air launched cruise missiles. Three military bases were struck. One base in Damascus that is R&D for chemical weapons was hit. Two bases near Homs were hit that are used to make, store, and deliver chemical weapons with missiles. One of these bases also had command and control capability.

We will find out tomorrow if there were any allied casualties and how effective the Syrian air defenses were against our missiles and if we hit our targets. There is a briefing by the Pentagon in the morning.

And exactly WHAT gives the USA the right to do this? Can you guys NEVER learn from history? After similar action in Iraq and Libya, both countries are 1000 times WORSE than before! US policies in Iraq gave rise to IS, who murdered 1000's. Again, like the LIES about WMD by Bush, Trump has attacked another country without any real EVIDENCE.

I hope BB is not again going to delete this comment, because it says some painful TRUTH about the USA

But that’s what we do for heavens sakes.

Lol, Russians are saying they intercepted 70+ out of 103 missiles.

Looks like they shot down 13 out of 120.

Yes, I myself am getting a bit tired of us being the worlds policeman, and in this case the Air Force for the rebel groups that are largely Islamist. Enough already, we are 21 trillion dollars in debt and our military is stretched thin - it's time to regroup. Sure Assad is not a nice guy, but is it our responsibility to take him to task even if it was him who did the chemical attack?

The exact truth will probably never be know.

Of course all voices are shouting their version of the truth.

One truth: President Trump did this with the help of GB and France, thank you for your assistance.

Another truth: War is hell (on earth).

The number of intercepts is probably a minor point depending on the mission statement and if it was met.

My opinion FWIW: The Russian intercept missiles (whoever launched them) :They launched 72 intercepts, 60 were successful bringing down about half of the allied missiles.

Now we must wait and see if this is the precursor of WWIII.

We need to be in prayer, though I believe WWIII is the inevitable war of humankind's history (of course that was said of WWI) that if possible we have peace in our day.

Speak softly but carry a big stick?
Of course TR had no idea of "TWEETs".

I guess President Trump has a different philosophy. One that is necessary in this world of bullies IMO.

According to Pentagon during the morning briefing today: all missiles hit their targets, none were shot down. Syrian air defenses activated only after the last missile hit.

OK.

The only good thing is that the Left/Right fractures will finally come together (depending not on Trump but Putin).

My opinion.

It's funny with our attack, we have no problem with Assad slaughtering these people in other ways like bombing, shelling, and the use of small arms and we do nothing when that happens but oh boy, when he uses chemicals watch out we're coming. Guess what, these people are just as injured or dead, so why is one method of killing somehow worse than the other? I guess Assad should just smarten up and used the "approved" weapons for his killing and then he won't get attacked.

It's a convenient excuse.
Because its really the cold war between America and Russia being brought back to life and heated up to a hot war.
The showdown that has been brewing since WWII.

It really is and has been all along Communism versus Capitalism.

My opinion of course
