Looking at who's saying what and who can't control the glee, put me down as extremely skeptical.

President Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador in a White House meeting last week, according to current and former U.S. officials, who said Trump’s disclosures jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State.

The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said.

The partner had not given the United States permission to share the material with Russia, and officials said Trump’s decision to do so endangers cooperation from an ally that has access to the inner workings of the Islamic State. After Trump’s meeting, senior White House officials took steps to contain the damage, placing calls to the CIA and the National Security Agency.

“This is code-word information,” said a U.S. official familiar with the matter, using terminology that refers to one of the highest classification levels used by American spy agencies. Trump “revealed more information to the Russian ambassador than we have shared with our own allies.”

Were you also as concerned when the former Sec. of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had all that classified and Top Secret government information on an unsecured server? Good grief, you know the Chinese and the Russians got all that information for sure.

Re "Haters". When someone people start throwing that out at others with whom they disagree, it suggests that they are starting to lose talking points and reverting to Alynsky's Rule Number Five.

It can and will should it be proven that he did disclose classified information.

Just like Hillary had all that classified and top secret info on her unsecured private server? We dodged a bullet when she lost the election.

Hey, how about all that unmasking of private citizens by the Obama administration in violation of the law. How do you feel about them apples?

Glee? I do not see anyone posting in this thread happy about it.

Was there glee when Obama did stupid/harmful things as President? No.

I feel the same way. I didn't vote for Clinton or Obama and your assumption that I somehow support them because I have come out against Trump is a root cause of the issues this country faces when it comes to electing officials. Your inability to turn off binary politics and instead assume that because I dislike Trump I support Democrats is pretty simple minded.

One day people in this country will grow up and stop associating someone as a Republican or Democrat based on their dislike for either a Republican or Democrat.

I'm no fan of Trump but a close reading of the article and watching the video at the link leads me to believe this is misleading news.

Parse this sentence from the article:
The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said.

At a glance that sounds like the information is tightly restricted but it's really saying the intelligence sharing arrangement is secret.

So basically what Trump blabbed to the Russian ambassador is the origin city and country where the secret information came from, not the actual secret information. Yes, I understand the origin country is also a secret, but really, it's the information that is truly sensitive, and it is the information on ISIS that the Washington Post is trying to make us believe was leaked. Look at their headline, "Trump Revealed Highly Classified Information." Really? Like what? The city where they got some intel on ISIS. I bet it's in either Iraq or Syria, real tough to figure out.

Obviously, Trump made a mistake, but it's not as bad as WaPo is trying to make it out to be.

Is the source of this info named ?

The source was named: But it appears SOME people ONLY read Headlines.
Once again, who cares about FACTS when gossip and nonsense is readily available to tickle the ear of an anti-Trump guy.

"according to current and former U.S. officials"
"Washington Post revelations"
"Greg Miller and Greg Jaffe"
(Washington Post)

Oh, and that little insignificant one liner about .... officials Actually Present at the meeting...

"White House officials involved in the meeting said Trump discussed only shared concerns about terrorism."

And ...

“The president and the foreign minister reviewed common threats from terrorist organizations to include threats to aviation,” said H.R. McMaster, the national security adviser, who participated in the meeting. “At no time were any intelligence sources or methods discussed, and no military operations were disclosed that were not already known publicly.”

That is assuming there is any maturity left in politics, which has become an increasingly divisive mess in the 21st century. Perhaps I was naive while earning my political science degree in the late 1980s-early 1990s, but it seemed that people generally voted, accepted the results and then went about their business. We didn't have large sections of the population throwing fits for years because (gasp!) their candidate didn't happen to win.

Worse yet, people justify their behavior based on their perception of the "other side" acting in an immature manner when they lost an election (i.e., "You Republicans hated Obama, so now it's our turn" and vice-versa).

The saddest thing about all of this is that my high school-aged daughter gets to deal with political nonsense all day long. That's a drag -- kids ought to be worried about more important things than politics.

This country was established by statesmen who were servants for the good of the whole.
Now it's about win, win, win to be the leader pseudo king for the good of the king and his minions.

You're kidding, right?:Roflmao

Looks to me like more Wapo fake news. Alot of innuendo, unnamed sources and speculation.

Moving on...

And that is precisely the problem. Even is the story is 100 percent true, who out there actually trusts the media these days? We've got a publication that was in the tank for Clinton and actually bragged about assigning reporters to target Trump prior to the election. As the Washington Post's bias to the fact that we have a bunch of unnamed sources and it's no wonder that the credibility of any part of that article is called into question. There are a lot of Americans who simply don't trust the media anymore, and with good reason.

Yes. I thought your posting of Hillary Clinton and the sombrero was one of the most immature things I've seen in a while. Glad to see you are reflective about your actions.

We didn't have large sections of the population throwing fits for years because (gasp!) their candidate didn't happen to win.
Since your first post in this thread, you have been trying to spin this as an issue of one side losing an election, not the actions of a sitting President.

Worse yet, people justify their behavior based on their perception of the "other side" acting in an immature manner when they lost an election (i.e., "You Republicans hated Obama, so now it's our turn" and vice-versa).
Yes. This really cranked up when Clinton was in office and the Republicans constantly attacked. I opposed Clinton, but there was so many false attacks against Clinton that when the real issues came up, no one took them very seriously. Then George W. Bush became President and Democrats attacked him without ceasing. Then Obama was elected and Republicans attacked - largely on disproven things like allegations he was born in Kenya.

But do you realize that many of us deplore that kind of behavior and no matter who won the 2016 election, "our side" would not have won? I am looking at this quite objectively and would be incensed no matter which previous President had acted in the manner that Trump has acted. And dismissing everything as sour grapes is the height of foolishness.

I'm not "excited". I am deeply concerned.
Its all fake news. It did not happen. Secretery of State was in meeting and said nothing inappropriate was revealed. I guess most will trust an anonymous source over The President and S.O.S.

Yes, I was upset. But she did not sit down and verbally share classified information with them. That is now history. We are now in the now and who knows what harm Trump has done.

Would you, if you were in a foreign intelligence service, share any classified information the with Americans now?

There is no possible way that you or a news agency or even so-called high officials can know that "classified information" was disclosed by the president.

In fact what (in all probability) happened is that FALSE "classified information" was "leaked" to the Russian officials.

They do it to us, we do it to them.

All the time.
