Trump shot

At a time like this, with at least one innocent person in the stands, and perhaps more, shot or killed, we should not seek to point fingers and blame. Mr. Trump survived the attempted assassination, praise God, and the families of those shot should be in our prayers.

"Former President Donald Trump was rushed off stage with blood dripping on his face after gunshots rang out at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. One spectator at the rally is dead, and two are in serious condition.

The shooting is being investigated as an assassination attempt, CNN, the Associated Press and other outlets reported.

Secret Service Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement that the suspected shooter, who officials confirmed is dead, fired multiple shots toward the stage at approximately 6:15 p.m. He said the shooter was in an elevated position outside the rally...."

Trump shot at in apparent assassination attempt at rally, 1 dead (usatoday.com)

Two dead., three wounded.

how can ordinary people attending the rally, see the shooter, and the secret service don't? This is totally unacceptable!

Regardless of what one thinks about Trump or Biden, to try and murder them, is SO VERY WRONG! Thank the Good Lord that Trump survived.

It is time that the US tightens its gun laws

A very dark day for the US, and the free world.

Trump will win by a huge landslide.

Pastor Tim Smith of Crossing Community Church (Newtown, Pennsylvania) in an admonition prior to the sermon today.

(40:10)
I believe it's the job of the church to try and address things that are happening in our community and in our culture in a relevant way ... just not with the sermon always, but at least with a comment that is in some way guiding.

And so, I'm not sure what you've been doing for the past 18 hours, but we were as much as an earlobe [away] from waking up to an entirely different world this morning.

If you've never believed in the providence of God, then, you should just pay attention to how closely the former President almost died last light.
I say that because we as God's people have a responsibility. to behave and to speak in a way that honors God and people.
And so, its not hard at all to go online and find 'Christians', (and I don't say 'Christians' like their not), I'm saying, to find 'Christians' who dishonor elected officials, speak ill of them, mock them, "Let's go Brandon" all over the place on their Facebook pages. They wear their t-shirts and stuff...
I think that's wrong;
I think that's ungodly;
I think that it's dishonoring to God.
So, whether you [dishonor] any politician ... we as God's people, right now!, as we always need to be, right now!, we need to be LIGHT!

It doesn't matter whether you like the guy in front of you, talking on T.V. or not.
We need to be light! We have a mandate to honor, to respect, and to pray for the elected officials that stand over us.
There's not a contingency anywhere in there that we have to like them, or to agree with them, or anything else like that.

But what we're doing is NOT representing a party, our candidate, our politician,
We're representing the King of the Universe, who stands above and beyond all those things.
And he asks uo to stand above and beyond all those things as well.

You don't have to forfeit your opinion;
You don't have to forfeit your vote...
You just have to forget dishonoring, ungodly behavior.
So, may it not be found among us.
that we will [not] participate in those things and that we will neither in private conversations or public postings, be dishonoring, disrespectful of any elected official...

Every year they say, "This is the big one".
You know what?, this seems like 'it's a big one"!
And so, this year, we need to be honoring.
This year, we need to be LIGHT.
Our nation needs the Church to be light, more than ever.

So, may we be that light in your small circles of influence.

Because last night should have been a wake-up call to just how close we would have been to an entirely different situation today.

I feel for those lost and injured.

But this includes the shooter and his family.

We are talking about a 20 year old boy. I say "boy" because it seems to me that young people remain children for a longer period than they did several decades ago (I don't know why....it's either that they do or my perception is affected as my own age increases).

But we are talking about a 20 year old who grew up in the political rhetoric of our time. He was 16 years old hearing that Trump was a racist akin to Hitler seeking to overthrow our nation. He is the perpetrator, but he is also a victim of the powers that struggle for power. We cannot celebrate the young man's death even as we recognize its necessity.

Biden just said this in a televised address from the Oval Office:

"Thankfully, former Trump is not seriously injured."

The problem is the political environment.

Democrat leaders have called for violence against Trump (Waters comes to mind). Biden used words that come from violence (putting Trump in the "bullseye") and his lies about Trump (that Trump stated he would be a dictator if elected and meant it, called for a bloodbath, etc) contributes to violence. Bennie Thompson's staff member lamented that the shooter missed (and was fired for the comment).

Republicans are no better insofar as adding to this environment with calls for another civil war. The GOP preached that if Obama were elected it would destroy our nation. This was repeated each election.

We should not be surprised that hate begats hate.
