I'm OK with that ....as long as he pulls his head outa his :Speechless & performs the job of president effectively (some class would be a nice change also);)

So, would taking national security calls on your cell phone at the dinner table in a public setting be "not acting presidential"?

(CNN)The iceberg wedge salads, dripping with blue cheese dressing, had just been served on the terrace of Mar-a-Lago Saturday when the call to President Donald Trump came in: North Korea had launched an intermediate-range ballistic missile, its first challenge to international rules since Trump was sworn in three weeks ago.

Sitting alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, with whom he'd spent most of the day golfing, Trump took the call on a mobile phone at his table, which was set squarely in the middle of the private club's dining area.

As Mar-a-Lago's wealthy members looked on from their tables, and with a keyboard player crooning in the background, Trump and Abe's evening meal quickly morphed into a strategy session, the decision-making on full view to fellow diners, who described it in detail to CNN.

Trump's National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and chief strategist Steve Bannon left their seats to huddle closer to Trump as documents were produced and phone calls were placed to officials in Washington and Tokyo.
The patio was lit only with candles and moonlight, so aides used the camera lights on their phones to help the stone-faced Trump and Abe read through the documents.

Maybe because nothing classified was talked about.

HankD

The intelligence we had gathered on North Korea launching a missile would not be classified information? You don't think that is secret stuff? With the Japanese prime minister sitting right there?

Prove that classified information was discussed.

Uh...ok.

Please supply a link to the Republican plan that would replace Obamacare.

I would rather ask what is the COTUS plan that would replace Obamacare -

10TH AMENDMENT! Since the COTUS does not address health care -it is then the responsibility of the State or Commonwealth. If a jurisdiction does want to provide it - they would be under no obligation to do so.

No, just wondering why a national security meeting would take place in front of people that don't have proper government clearances.

I have harped on this long ago now that I would say that No.... it was not the "Professional" thing to do. But obviously we are aware of the manner he should have employed, right?

Prove it, really? The National Security Adviser and the President's top adviser were called over to the "meeting" on the patio at Mar-a-Lago and examined documents regarding North Korea launching a ballistic missile. Phone calls were made. I think it's a safe assumption that the material discussed was not for public consumption. Sheesh! Are you willing to rationalize ANYTHING?

Interesting article about the dinner with the Japanese PM.

Trump ran a campaign based on intelligence security. That’s not how he’s governing.

Arrghhh!! I didn't even think of this, and I'm fairly phone savvy.

The fact that people with phones were illuminating the documents being read would be an easy opportunity to video tape the whole thing, getting pictures of the documents and recording of the conversations on your phone! Wow.

My first thought when I found out.

But no worries...it was a GREAT photo-op.

He has a great, psychological need to be loved.

Really? And the legacy hound named Obama doesn't. You didn't mind that he is all the things you accuse Trump of being.

Your ideology trumps what good sense you might otherwise have.
