Even if you want to discount NY and California over votes for Hillary(which you can't they are there to stay), Trump still would not have a majority, he would only have a plurality of the popular vote. Of course on the flip side even with the over votes from California and NY Hillary did not win a majority of the votes either.

This is the sort of rationalization that astounds me.

"If you eliminate the vote counts from several of the most populous states, Trump won the popular vote."

Liberals tend to vote liberal in blue states and conservatives tend to vote conservative in red states. Sky blue, water wet, news at 11.

I don't see why they have to be renamed, now they are new or old Democrats, Third Partiers, or the totally disenchanted crowd. Consider [HASHTAG]#neverTrump[/HASHTAG] this year's equivalent of the PUMAs of 2008.

That wouldn't be why they won the game but kudos to you for the football analogy. Final score = EC votes, time of possession = popular vote, [HASHTAG]#first[/HASHTAG] downs = states but then it's still possible to "lose" in all the stats but win the game.
