I’m not asking it to...in fact it should be scorched earth policy for the Chinese economy. I’m saying compensate the stupid American vendors away from reliance on Chinese goods to something we could benefit from as Americans. Can Trump do that is the question.
He shouldn't do it. Tariff the devil out of the Chinese and the American supply chain will compensate. It will bring manufacturing home, move from China to other nations. We can dessimate China with nary a hickup our side.

Would that that were so. I worked for a guy in NY who built safety equipment and for years in NY... Brooklyn to be exact.

First mistake, liberal taxing, highly regulated and overpriced NY is one of the last places I would operate a business.

...so he shifts much of his manufacturing to Mexico.
Second mistake, guys like him is why our country was going downhill so fast. No sympathy from me.

...only the unions would never permit him to buy & sell Vietnam’s goods.

Third mistake, unions. I would not want anyone telling me how to run my business and wouldn't want anything to do with a business that couldn't run independently from them.

So what can he do, why he shifts to China ( like all his competitors did).

Forth mistake, hasn't learned that chasing cheaper labor/lower quality isn't the answer leading to the Fifth mistake, China will now cost him an extra 25% tax off the top.

Trump now forces this guy to begin moving to Vietnam, Cambodia, maybe Mexico once again.

Six mistake, this guy seems to never get the clue...the answer is for this Globalist minded boss of yours to put his loyalty back into the U.S.A. where it belongs, quit making excuses and make it succeed or someone else will.

I’m not supporting the Chinese wise guy. I’m an American and I support my countryman. Loosing American jobs is my concern.

Mmhhmm...
.... so he shifts much of his manufacturing to Mexico. His hallway was adorned with pictures of him on a donkey with a sumbrao and poncho and smiling Mexicans all around him.

...all his competition moves to China and is still eating his lunch (now a rice & bean taco). So if he is now making something in Mexico...

...so he travels to Vietnam and comments that business is booming

... only the unions would never permit him to buy & sell Vietnam’s goods.

EWF's response to my criticism of the man's practice of taking his manufacturing jobs to other countries:

EWF's response to my criticism of the man's practice of taking his manufacturing jobs to other countries:

That’s right... he employed 1000 and more people in the USA with full healthcare, vacation time etc. He still makes product in north and South Carolina and WASHINGTON state with distribution sites throughout this country.... tell me, how many Americans do you employ?

Oh by the way, it was the Republicans that convinced him to buy into NAFTA.

Perot could not convince the Republicans to abandon the idea of NAFTA, so he ran to spite them. Then that infamous Democrat Clinton went through with NAFTA anyway, so we lost two ways. NAFTA no doubt created some jobs, and made some people quite rich, but the giant sucking sound of losing many more important jobs was real. However, it was nothing compared to the China debacle, and both parties are to blame for that as well.

Will EWF acknowledge Trumps's efforts to turn the tide or will he remain critical of Trump at all costs despite saying his concern is for American jobs?
