Uncomfortable Silence in the Church

It's already been done, CTB and found to be protected under the First Amendment. Yet another wrong decision by our legal system.

Our judges and Justices don't want to define what's inappropriate let alone make decisions about it. Hard core porn is protected. Why would a television junk not be? Look at these court cases.

Scarlett, yep, I knew that. I was curious if others on the board who are complaining about the gov. forcing homosexuality down our throats knew and if so, why don't they complain about that?

As I have said numerously times over a period of time that in our society, Christian and otherwise there are acceptable sins and other sins that are denounced loudly.

I think that is the point being made in the OP.

The OP does not come across the way you intended. Please understand that.

And people DO complain about what comes over the television and radio and reading material.

It's protected and we hate it, BUT we have an option of changing the channel, teaching our children to change the channel, putting the book down, not buying the book in the first place.

With inappropriate sexual material - Christians have a choice to abstain and not participate. With homosexual marriage being now "untouchable" - the question arises, from the dissenting Justices themselves, will Christians be allowed to not participate now?

There are far reaching scenarios about this where Christians will probably not be allowed their convictions.

Time will tell. THAT'S the outcry.

I have simply given up watching almost all TV.

I agree and hope that Christians do abstain. I wish Christians would quit watching sexually explicit programs and movies. Advertisers would notice and stop advertising on such programs. That would get the attention of the bosses and programs and movies would change.

This is an issue that you and I will be on the same side.

Revmitchell has answered this a couple of times. Neither the government or the general public is "forcing porn down our throats". Have you seen any porn pride parades lately? Anyone's grade school kids coming home with textbooks normalizing pornography? How about kid's books about "Daddy is a Porn Star"? Have citizens in states voted to ban pornography only to have the judicial system overturn those election results?

FOR THE RECORD: back on page 2, I stated that I didn't believe CTB would even come back to this thread. I have been proven wrong. It's a pleasant surprise. My apologies for the derogatory implication.

Im not gay
They are not just protecting gay rights but everybody's.
Gays have the same rights as you my brother.
The same liberalism that allows you to worship on Sunday affords a Satanist total freedom of worship. You can't hate the nation for permitting Satanism because they can in turn hate it for permitting you.

Deuteronomy 22:22 "If a man is found sleeping with another man's wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die."

Leviticus 20:10 "If a man commits adultery with another man's wife--with the wife of his neighbor--both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death."

Matthew 10:12 "And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."

Many replies simply show that some sins are very unpopular while other sins are acceptable or at least tolerated in our society.

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

The lesson here is obvious. Adultery is a sin, but no one is to be put to death for it ever again. So saith the Lord.

You argument is without merit.

Well, that's one church I won't be going to.

What is sad is that this "pastor" said that the Bible doesn't state that there are any consequences to homosexuality. That's a very ignorant pastor, I'd guess.
