US church defiant despite condemnation of Koran burning

In other countries, Muslims burn entire church buildings and homes of Christians, beat and kill them, yet you don't hear much public outcry about it here in the US. Yet, let a church have a book burning and they cry and wet their pants.
Not saying it's the smartest thing to do, but this church has the freedom to do this and should not need fear retaliation or violence in return. Muslims need to get a grip and understand people are tired of their violence and threats. The USA is not just for them, and if they don't like it, they need to go back overseas to their own "Muslim" countries instead of trying to turn America into one.

From what I understand from someone local, this pastor is known for being very vocal against many things. Not like quietly protesting but really being quite vocal and offensive, from what I was told. Holding up a sign during the last presidential election on the side of the road saying "HONK IF YOU HATE OBAMA BECAUSE YOU KNOW HE IS MUSLIM" sort of stuff.
So I think this pastor doesn't mind offense or what might be the better way to go against some of this stuff.

Thank you for explaining, Ann. I had not read anything like that, so I thought it was more or less a book burning. If this guy is just doing it to stir up strife, then I think he's out of line. He has the FREEDOM to do so, just as people have the freedom to burn the flag, but that doesn't mean it's exactly wise.
Still, if this were a mosque burning Bibles, I doubt it would even hit the news media.

The church does have the freedom to burn the korans just like Marilyn Manson rips bibles at concerts and Muslim people stomp on and burn the American flag in America.
I am not saying I agree with it, but if America wants to have freedom for everything else than these guys should be able to have this freedom.
And we need to stop putting the blame on the church and everyone else if retaliation happens. We are excusing their violence. If this continues they will start threatning violence for preaching, homosexuality, etc.. and guess who will get the blame?? not the muslims thats for sure.

Trust me, in this age, if a mosque in the U.S. did that it would be ALL OVER the news.
To address the issue more broadly, the church has a legal right to do this and any illegal actions towards them should be prosecuted. With that said, this nutball, the Rev. Terry Jones, shouldn't do this and he just wants to get attention. He's just trying to make people angry and it won't turn out good for him. About 2% of the population is crazy and there are a couple of million Muslims in the country.... do the math. Personally, I think book burning is stupid. Why do it? What will it really accomplish? Yet, some people burn Bibles and others burn the Koran, I will let them have their right to do such, though I doubt both of their wisdom and think they would be better off doing other things and making an actual statement.
However, I do not think we should be in fear of people burning the Koran. Some say it will provoke retaliation. In that sense, I must confess I think those who would retaliate are far worse than those who merely burn a book. The church is using their freedom of expression. Those who retaliate would kill innocent human lives. I would fight for the right of people to express their views, even if I strongly disagree, in a peaceful manner. Yet, I do not think we should intimidate the church by invoking the fear card.
Let them waste their time, money, and show their total lack of wisdom by burning the Koran. However, I only know of one religion who would kill you because you burn their book. The problem is not with the stupid Pastor in Florida, but with those who would kill.
Stupid people will do stupid things. In the real world, we do not threaten to kill people for being stupid, we just go about our life recognizing stupidity.

Does anyone else find it interesting that President Obama asked the church not to burn the Koran, but never asked the builders of the Mosque not to build, even though both groups are entirely within their rights?
I think it is a stupid, wrong act to burn the book. I don't think that books should be burned. But this is a publicity stunt by a church just aching to have their name and their pastor's name in the media.

Even more telling is that this supposed christian Hillary Clinton gave her statement while she was at an event celebrating a Muslim holiday, Iftar.

Apparently the Demoncrats have decided that along with the illegal alien vote they also want the Muslim vote.
Terry Jones used to pastor a church in Cologne, Germany, but he was kicked out last year because he was radical and for financial irregularities. Some members are still being treated because of spiritual abuse. Now he stirs up trouble here in the USA.
