You really think that God's desire is for you to seek amusement in fantasy violence? I pity your boy.

Do you really think God desires for you to shove your legalism down the throats of others?Aaron said:You really think that God's desire is for you to seek amusement in fantasy violence? I pity your boy.
Define legalism.webdog said:Do you really think God desires for you to shove your legalism down the throats of others?
I positively pity the child of anyone who justifies violent fantasy....and don't talk about me or my son unless you have something positive to say.
What personal attack? I merely described my feelings.I'm sick of your ad hominems.
I find little of what you have to say to be of much consequence anyway.I have nothing to say to you in the future.

If you need a definition for that, try a dictionary.Define legalism.
Define "violent fantasy". That can be anything from the Roadrunner and Coyote to Medal of Honor video games.I positively pity the child of anyone who justifies violent fantasy.
Saying you "pity" my son is calling me out on my parenting skills and morals. That constitutes an ad hominem, and you don't know me from Adam. What personal attack? I merely described my feelings.
You bitter calvinists usually do.I find little of what you have to say to be of much consequence anyway.
I pity the boy who has a pacifistic father. Or a melodramatic father. Boys are wired for fantasy violence... no harm no foul.Aaron said:- I pity your boy.
Wow. You don't put much stock in the Sermon on the Mount, do you?Ivon Denosovich said:I pity the boy who has a pacifistic father. Or a melodramatic father. Boys are wired for fantasy violence... no harm no foul.
Because it has "drag" in it so you know it has sexual deviancy involved so it's a sin.
ROTFL - I have no clue - I'd love to know too.
Why not sponsor drinking and drugs or maybe a nice drag racing night?? That's just beyond wrong.

I wonder if they are carding the kids to ensure they are of age. My 16 yr old says you must be 17 years old to buy Halo
"Sorry Johnny, you can't play with Freddy because you are a year younger"

Jeremiah said:The problem is that the age guidelines are suggested and not (thank God) under federal law. The only thing that restricts your child from buying the game is parental intervention and possibly money. (Best Buy requires ID, GameStop may depending on the situation and does request at least a parent to be with the child to buy the game, Wal-Mart’s computer prompts an ID check as well…)
As far as it being used in a church function as an outreach tool, I would have no problem as long as the setting was designed for an outreach and not an inreach. The bottom line is the parents of the teen should be involved enough to stop them if they feel this is inappropriate for their child. With the massive media blitz that Microsoft put on to Finish the Fight you have to believe that most parents would have some input on their child's media choice.
Should it be an inreach event? I would dare to say most of the kids I know that would come would frag me so fast I wouldn't want to play. Still most of these teen’s Christian parents have little or no issue with the games they are playing because it does not equate to real life, it is fantasy.
If it did equate to real life I and many others were supposed to snap as a result of videogame violence long ago so you had better get off our backs!
