Do you have reading comprehension problems or are you intentionally trying to make it look like I said something I did not say?

lbaker said:Duh, someone who sins, who obeys his/her own will over God's will, either on purpose or in ignorance.
Some are saved sinners and some are lost sinners, but we're all sinners.
Okay, there, I said it and I'm glad!
Now, take it and run with it...
standingfirminChrist said:I am so glad that even though I am a sinner, Christ is my defense. I have yet to see a defense attorney that has been retained by someone to act as prosecutor of that person.
Hope of Glory said:He came as a prophet.
Today he's our high priest.
One day, he will be on the throne as king.
The AV, Word of God says:lbaker said:From John 18:
37"You are a king, then!" said Pilate.
Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
It sounds like He is already our King right now, and has been for quite a while.

John 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
Jesus didn't say this, he said that Pilate said it.lbaker said:and your point is...???
We are starting to see part of the root of your problems.standingfirminChrist said:Jesus did not come to set up His Kingdom. He said His Kingdom was not of this world.
He came to save sinners. He came to die on the cross for all mankind.
Accountable said:Jesus didn't say this, he said that Pilate said it.
Jesus came to be King and set up His Kingdom but the Jews rejected Him and would not let Him hold authority over them.
Accountable said:Accountable said: Did John preach "Repent for Jesus has come to die on the cross for all mankind!"?
Les here - well, actually he pretty much did: John 1:29:
Still Les here: The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Accountable said: No He preached "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."
Les here - note that John said "of Heaven" not "of Israel."
You are not understanding my post. Anyone of any Bible knowledge knows He would die for our sins according to Paslms and Isaiah, etc.lbaker said:I see two errors in this line of thinking:
1. Jesus is affirming that what Pilate said was true. Jesus is not denying that He is a king. That is why most translations render it differently than the AV. He just finished saying that He had a kingdom, although not an earthly one. Obviously He IS a king. How could He have a kingdom and not be a King?
2. This idea that the Jews rejection of Jesus thwarted His purpose pretty much says that the Jews were more powerful than God, that things did not go as God planned, that Jesus failed in His mission, and that His role as Savior was an afterthought to try and salvage something of value from the mess He had made. Jesus never had any intention of setting up an earthly kingdom. Some of the Jews, and apparently some of us, seem to have had that idea, but it is wrong.
I think we are seeing part of the root of YOUR problem. You cannot read the AV language properly.Accountable said:We are starting to see part of the root of your problems.
Did John preach "Repent for Jesus has come to die on the cross for all mankind!"?
No He preached "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."
Jesus Himself warned the disciples that He had not come but for the "Lost sheep of the House of Israel."
Yes it was prophesied of His death and praise the Lord it was!
But you forget the propesies that spoke of Him coming to His people, the House of Isreal.
Please Change this blog. I don't believe it was intentional but you have severly misquoted me. I never said much of what you have in the qouted area.lbaker said:So, John was preaching a heavenly kingdom, filled with forgiven sinners.
If you would read all of my blogs instead of hiding your eyes to all but your pickings you will see that I too believe He came to die for us but first came unto the House of Israel. Sounds to me that you reject His desire for Israel. There are warnings of this in Romans.Amy.G said:I think we are seeing part of the root of YOUR problem. You cannot read the AV language properly.
Luk 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Who is misquoting who?Accountable said:If you would read all of my blogs instead of hiding your eyes to all but your pickings you will see that I too believe He came to die for us but first came unto the House of Israel. I don't remember adressing the misquote to you. It was another and as I said, I'm sure it was not intentional.Amy.G said:Who is misquoting who?
I never said He didn't come for Israel. I'm tired of wasting posts defending myself against your poor debate tactics.
