Post-it... I've never complained about you before, but could you please restrain from turning every thread you participate in to a discussion of homosexuality? I know you have very strong feeling about the issue, but I think this constant drumbeating is hurting your case.
I'm not mad or accusing you of anything except some overzealousness.
Isn't this something: a man goes around condoning that which the Lord called abominable, unatural sin and a "Baptist Believer" says, "I'm not mad or accusing you of anything except some overzealousness." </font>[/QUOTE]I see you are taking my comment slightly out of context…
I wanted to emphasize that I am not personally angry with post-it or accusing him of some sort of bad manners for our online forum. If you noticed I did say I strongly disagreed with his views on homosexuality, but I guess that would have interfered with an opportunity to make a condemning remark.
Well I got news for you, the Lord IS mad and He will have a whole list of accusations against such filthy heretics.
Is the Lord mad or are you mad?
I can’t judge post-it’s intentions. He could be a guy who has knowingly made a pact with Satan to undermine the BaptistBoard and the faith of Mark Osgatharp. He could be a Christian who is more influenced by the culture than the scriptures. He could be a Christian who, for one reason or another, interprets the writings of Paul according to a certain understanding of culture and context and places more emphasis on the “spirit” of Paul’s teachings than the “letter” of Paul’s teachings. Or he could be a Christian who has been heavily influenced by some of the very scholarly works that have come out in the last 20 years that (in my mind) try to cloud the real issues surrounding the teachings of scripture. Or he could be a guy who thinks that “grace” is more important than “truth” and he would rather make the “mistake” of grace rather than “condemnation”. But I have no way of knowing that… But God truly knows. He knows the hearts and intent and will righteously judge post-it, you and me.
I do not agree with post-it, but I feel no need to jump to conclusions about him based on one issue he has discussed on BaptistBoard.
Frankly you have very little credibility with me since you have declared the writings of Leon McBeth – and man I know personally – to be the writings of “anti-Christ” since he as a historian did not insert a condemning opinion of Harry Emerson Fosdick in his book on Baptist history. I know the man and have seen the testimony of his life and words and he is not of anti-Christ. You have jumped to a conclusion without having all the facts.
Remember that you may be seated next to Post-it, Leon McBeth, Joshua and me at the wedding feast of the Lamb…
