What are the two Bible Versions that you use the most?

NASB and ESV seem to be the ones I use the most. The NASB is my primary Bible period, while I tend to switch the secondary around often. The ESV is a current favorite.

NIV and HCSB.

But if I could get a copy of the NASB that was as small as my pocket NIV. I would use it instead of the NIV.

Yeah, when I find a good Bible, that's my Bible through thick and thin. So the ESV is pretty much all I use right now. I have a wonderful smallish Bible that is easy to carry, has good notes and other than the fact that I now need reading glasses to read, it's quite easy to read. I hope it lasts me a long time.

I know you claimed that it's "easy" for you to read, but do you recognize that the ESV is in serious need of a substantial revamp?

"Thick" = Old Testament, "Thin" = New Testament?

For me, it used to be NASB all-the-way, but then about the first of November, when I began going again to church and Bible study after surgery, I didn't carry my Bible with me on crutches, so I picked one off the shelf in out meeting room, and they seem to be all NIV's there. Then after I broke my wrist in January, I wore an arm sling, though not while trying to manage the crutches, so I used the sling as a carrier and brought my NASB into meetings again. But having to carry anything else I have with me in that manner, mostly I still used an NIV from the shelf. It's still the same now, except that my wrist has healed to where I can use a cane in the correct hand. In the worship assembly, there is usually little reason to have one's own Bible, as referenced passages are projected on the screen and/or in the notes in the bulletin.

You were expecting a shorter answer? :laugh:

Well, the large print versions of any thing are becoming more and more necessary. But my bifocals certainly help :p

THe ESV is certainly the most used.

I used to use the NASB a lot as well but I used the NKJV more now because I got the MacArthur daily Bible NKJV this year and I got the Johnny Cash NKJV audio bible.
The ones I like are the NASB, the ESV and the NKJV in no particular order.
What we use in church is the ESV by one elder and one of the sunday school teachers and the NIV by the senior pastor. SO I use the NIV in church but that is about it.

Altogether, I would say
1. ESV
2. NKJV
that is it for this thread but...

3. NASB
4 NIV

I guess I could put the KJV at 5 but I never need to use it anymore and after that I don't use any other translations at all.
I use the above 4 translations and nothing else.

For a long time, I used the KJV and NIV. Lately, I have been using the TNIV and NIV. I plan on incorporating the NKJV and NASB in the near future.
