But, when they say (and this may not be YOUR BELIEF):

  1. "Regeneration, New Birth, Being Born Again: These different terms define what happens when God quickens one of his children into eternal life. We believe this is done by the life-giving voice of Jesus Christ and is always effectual and irresistible on the part of the individual. This is done separate and apart from the preaching of the gospel and without any aid of man. (John 3:6-8, John 5:25, John 6:37, Romans 8:30, Ephesians 2:1, 2nd Timothy 1:9)"
I thought, "the preaching of the gospel"
WAS THE "(means which He has ordained)"

So, I am without a clue about it.

Thanks anyway.
...

Maybe this is it; from their scriptures(?)

John 3:6-8,
6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh;
and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is everyone that is born of the Spirit."

The wind of the Spirit bloweth where it listeth
and someone is born again?

...

John 5:25,

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is,
when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God:
and they that hear shall live.

The dead shall just hear the voice of the Son of God:
and they that hear shall live?

...

John 6:37,

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me?
...

Romans 8:30,

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Them God Himself "called"?

...

Ephesians 2:1,
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

You hath God quickened on His Own?

...

2nd Timothy 1:9,

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

God, Himself, called us with an holy calling?

Before we go anywhere with this discussion, please, I would like to know (without elaboration) what order you would put the three B’s… Belief, Birth, Baptism. A one two three placement is sufficient… then we can compare notes. I will tell you that I’m impressed by your knowledge and diligence in understanding but I don’t know from where it springs from (unless it’s the Holy Ghost) and if so I’m more than happy to accommodate you in dialog… but let’s keep it to a minimum because I have a broken wrist so I can’t type too long w/o pain. Thanks

unless it’s the Holy Ghost) and

Right. That is what they tell me. Something Supernatural like that is all Him, as you know.

I just load my guns and am surprised what the Lord allows me to shoot at!

I’m impressed by your knowledge and diligence in understanding but I don’t know from where it springs from

Thank you. Praise God.

I am standing on the shoulders of Many good men of God, from whom I have been Blessed to learn.

My calling, apparently is to place the Eternal Word of God under the view of the souls of others, so the Holy Spirit may use it to Bless and teach them, as I was taught.

The Goal is to worship The Glory of God.
...
The Birth of the Holy Spirit is what you mean, obviously(?), so Birth, Believe, Baptism.
...
No hassle. Will be praying for you and your wrist. I understand. Mine didn't break from, from my biking skills, in my sixties, but after 5 years of shots and theory I'm Very Much Improved! Whew!!

I see the church denominations as seven...

Messianic -Began in Jerusalem (Ephesus - The first church of Revelation)
Oriental Orthodox- Of the Roman Empire (Smyrna - Foxes has ten Roman persecutions)
Orthodox - Began in Constantinople (Pergomos - Towers... Needed in the dark ages)
Catholic - Built in Rome (Thyatira - The spirit of Jezebel is to control and dominate)
Protestant - Built in Germany (Sardis - A gem... Elegant and rigid)
Revived - Built in England (Philadelphia - Wesleyan Holiness - Can't keep the revival going)
Material - Built in the United States (Rich and increased with goods and has need of nothing?)

Laodicea - I am weary of the false charisma of our time! I find few churches who walk in the old Wesleyan Holiness ways so I have no denomination to recommend. The Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church... Wonderful people! When the old WW2 generation passed away the church went down with it. As much as I love the organization of the Pentecostal Holiness movement we are no good without good people. I go to Pentecostal Holiness Churches that have changed their names to some kind of "worship center" but it is totally different than what I was brought up with. The old timers used to claim that they had something that would take them to heaven. I have often wondered where the Laodicean ways will end up taking us!

The VAST majority of Episcopal churches are theologically in the same vein as ELCA, PCUSA, UCC, Disciples of Christ, and American Baptist.

The ACNA would be a much better fit if I wasn't able to attend my own church.

The choices were not so good.

I scored as a Puritan 88%
Baptist 87%
Calvinist 67%
Pentecostal 54%
Methodist 50%
Lutheran 24%

About 90 plus % of Puritans were Calvinists. Richard Baxter is a notable exception.
I don't understand why I scored anything in the Pentecostal, Methodist and
Lutheran categories.

Baptist 90%

Calvinist 72%

Methodist 50%

Pentecostal 45%

Lutheran 23%

Episcopalian 3%

Catholic 0%

Restorationist 0%

What? Not a wee bit of Puritanism?

Lol, I reckon not. Why do you ask? Do you consider me to be puritanical? :)

I know you're joking, but the Puritans were not puritanical. Calvin wasn't a Calvinist and Jesus wasn't a Christian.

puritanical synonym - Search (bing.com) ...from my experience on this board I would add judgmental, intolerant, maybe even Pharisaical.
