Besides just ignoring it and never going to the church ever again.
I applied to a job at the church. Not a pastor job but another kind of job where I have a lot of work experience. The first two interviews went well and they said we will contact you in a week. over two weeks later I followed up and they replied they chose someone else.
I was blindsided because I knew God told me to apply. So I asked what the reasons were.
They said that my work experience was very low and I had no skills. In 20 years with thousands of people and jobs complimenting me on my extreme creativity and amazing and astoundingly great work, I knew this was completely wrong. I figured, there must have been some big mixup!
So I asked him again over email that that was not valid and explained that's not even possible due to the statements being so far outside of reality that it made no sense.
This time, silence. I emailed a few more times trying to get a response. I offered to meet in person or talk on the phone and gave my cell phone.
I was respectful in all my emails, giving him the benefit of the doubt he must be busy. I was still interested, although even if not to get hired I would have liked to clear up the accusations of incompetent at my work abilities since it was obviously untrue as no one in my life has said such negative things about my work. I figured it must be a mistake.
Eventually, he replied very rudely and abruptly saying never to contact him again.
Shocked, I replied respectfully that I wanted a reply but I would want to talk with the pastor due to his refusal to talk to me and rude behavior.
Then what happened blew me out of my socks and completely stunned me. As I was in the middle of writing a nice letter to the pastor about the situation asking if I could sit down with the pastor and talk (but had not sent the letter yet), I saw I got another email reply.
It was from the security director of the church, who told me if I contacted anyone at the church ever again that they would call the cops on me.
I was dumbfounded and this shook me to the core. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. From the email you would have thought I had threatened bloody murder, but all I did was send a few, maybe 4, brief and respectful emails with calm language, nothing bad or wrong at all.
So just because this leader of that church department did not feel like addressing my question because they thought their BS and completely false response was plenty to explain why I had been overlooked, and because he did not feel like offering any genuine courtesy, he threatened to call the cops!
Completely unbelievable that a church leader would behave like this.
At this point of course I have no desire to work there. But, this is a serious problem and as representatives of God it is not ok that church leaders can treat people with such disrespect.
Worse, that they would prevent anyone from speaking with the pastor by threatening to call the cops if I even attempted to contact any pastor. This is outrageous and appalling behavior by supposed "Christians".
So what can I do? Obviously, I could let it be and forget about that church. But I do not want to because this is a serious problem that has to be addressed, not for my sake but for the sake of the church.
But of course, now I am fearful of being arrested without cause if I even attempt to speak to the pastor to clear up the matter. What should I do in this case?
